2ASSESSMENT
The concept or subject that has driven me to pursue this educational course is related
to inequality in the American society. in this regard mention could be made of the scholarly
journal like Reid, Cormack and Paine (2019) of ‘Colonial histories, racism and health—The
experience of māori and indigenous peoples’ where the author has pointed out the
institutional racism factor in the large portion of American History as well as modern social
context. The colour blind attitude and white privilege are existing factors in the most
developed country in the world where the economy is deciding factor of business and has the
largest International conglomerates operating in the market. The concept of white privilege is
a social privilege which benefits the white people over the non-white people if they are under
the same economic social and political circumstances. This has dated back to European
colonialism where people broadly sought to protect their privileges to get national citizenship
and other rights. According to this author white privilege has connected microaggressions in
the society where empowerment of socially with people have benefitted and a feeling of
hostility is continuing in every section of the sphere. Prejudice like sexism, gender biasness
and ethnocentrism are casually seen threatening the human rights. it has been found that the
political leaders are responsible for taking care of these issues but they are following the
easiest path that is to ignore the diversity. This issue is preventing multicultural research
social activism, education, employment and the overall growth of the human society. Finally,
it can be stated that in this 21st century where human has reached an outer space, the
relevance of racial discrimination catering division from one person to the other is not a
problem we should face.
