To HR Manager,
ABC InfoTech,
I want to share the strengths and weaknesses of me, which has identified by me using self-
analysis. I am requesting you to analyze them and suggest some suggestions to improve my
skills. It will be beneficial for my personal and professional development.
I am working as an assistant software engineer in a well-known company, which has
provided software and maintenance of different types of IT-systems. It is a good position is a
company. I used my skills and knowledge to manage my various works in the workplace. the
main work of this position is the development of software modules, which is a huge process. I
learned about the new technological innovations in my job, as I am certified by various
courses, which are good for a person, such as Oracle certification, cybersecurity certification,
and many more. It is a basic need for a software engineer to develop new processes.

learned many things from my professional life, which is helpful in my personal life as well,

I used reflective activities for self-awareness, such as the Johari Window activity in which I
have identified my unknown skills from various places. Most of the strengths are necessary
for this professional, as teamwork is a basic need to resolve technical issues in a module.
Became an assistant software engineer, I willing to provide better outcomes in less time.
Thus, time management is necessary to complete the tasks in a given time. According to
many surveys, professional development has related to reflective practices (Bolton, 2010).
Furthermore, reflective practice is helpful in the analysis of skills and the development of
skills as well. It can provide help for the improvement and development of skills (Fook,
2010). moreover, I learned that become a reflective practitioner, I have developed many skills
in me, which are helping in my work. Besides, there is a various reflective model to develop
new skills, such as Kolb’s, Gibb’s and many more. Thus, a person should always a reflective
practitioner in a personal and professional career (Johns, 2017).
In addition, self-awareness is necessary to identify the strength and weaknesses of a person,
which is helpful in the development of other skills (Lawrence-Wilkes & Ashmore, 2014).
Professional development is necessary for a good career in the field of any industry. In the
case of the software development sector. It is necessary to learn from our mistakes. The
reflective cycle can be used for developing different skills (Moon, 2006). I learned many
new things in this field, which are important for my professional development, such as agile
technologies, and online services. It provides confidence to take challenges in this field. My
senior manager is supporting me for my better works. It is a good thing to develop new skills
as well as professional development.
Moreover, I want to work as a professional project developer in the software industry. Thus,
it is necessary to develop new skills into me, which will provide help to reduce my
weaknesses. Moreover, I want some self-awareness activities to develop different skills, such
as time management, interpersonal communication, and many others. Reflective practices are
helping me in the development of new skills, such as blogs, journal writing, and many others
(Royds, 2010).
Furthermore, there are many things to manage in personal and professional life, which can be
used for the improvement of our professional skills. In addition, self-awareness is a basic
process to develop our career. I have joined different types of cybersecurity and other courses
to develop my knowledge to survive in this field, as technologies have changes in most of the
decades. However, many persons have improved their knowledge of their professional
