challenges. The Ebola virus is a deadly virus and has taken lives of several people. The global
response will be helpful to fight against the virus attack. Odyssey of Mind is a program
solving the challenge, the students with the aid of Odyssey of Mind can get the opportunity to
reveal their talents and expertise. The report will illustrate how the impact of Ebola virus can
be mitigated. The report will also state how the students can get benefitted with the help of
Odyssey of Mind challenge.

facing due to lack of electricity. The benefits of Scaling Off-Grid Energy will be highlighted

Problem and challenge
The sub-Saharan Africa dwellers mostly live without electricity. The government has
failed to provide electricity to the residents. For this reason, the people over there are relied
upon kerosene and diesel fuel. Both kerosene and diesel are dangerous and expensive to use
Scaling Off-Grid Energy challenges are to provide electricity to about 20 million households
which are clean and at the same time affordable (Scaling Off-Grid). Shell Foundation, US
Agency for International Development and UK Department for International Development
are the founding partners who have taken a mission is to set up a marketplace across Africa

grid energy.
Solutions
Scaling Off-Grid Energy has created a platform for donation, the donors and the
investors who want to help low-income consumers can make donations. The donations will
help to connect more and more households to electricity. Shell Foundation, US Agency for
International Development and UK Department for International Development has planned to
take some key initiatives. They have planned to support companies those who want to
provide the customers with the off-grid service. These companies will be able to test their
hardware resources and their business models and will get financial support from the
founding partners as well (Scaling Off-Grid). Scaling Off-Grid Energy can expand their
customer base. The founding partners of Scaling Off-Grid Energy with their innovation can
provide better services to the customers, can meet customers’ demands. They are focusing on
the developing energy-efficient household appliances. The founding partners should
introduce mobile payment systems by which the consumers can pay the bill with ease.

Ebola is a kind of fever primary caused by the ebolavirus attack. The effect is fatal as
the patients suffer from vomiting, diarrhoea and rashes. The virus also affects one’s kidney as
well. The patients start bleeding both internally as well externally due to the ill effect of the
Ebola virus. About twenty-five thousand people get affected by Ebola virus (Fighting Ebola).
The challenge is to stop the Ebola Epidemic. A global response is required to halt the Ebola
Epidemic and to safeguard the communities from the Ebola risk.
Solutions
The global response has suggested several ideas and solutions following which the
one can fight against Ebola. Several response gaps have been identified lie the information
communication technology, personal protective equipment, tools for health care workers and
the behaviour change. For personal protection, the healthcare worker must use health worker
suit as it can lessen the risks of Ebola infection. SPR Barrier Technology consists of the
spray-on barrier, and the electrostatic fields are capable of revelling Ebola microbes. The
healthcare worker tools like STAMPS Sensor, Drip Assist, can help in caring the patients.
The STAMPS Sensor acts like a band-aid, and it has come up the Bluetooth connectivity
(Fighting Ebola). The sensor can measure heart rate, temperature and the respiratory rate. The
Drip Assist is equipment which can ensure that the patients will get the accurate dosage of
fluids to fight against the virus. Decontamination Highlight colourizes the infected regions;
thus decontamination can be carried out with ease. Decontamination Chambers provide a
platform where the Ebola healthcare workers can decontaminate the health care equipment
within three minutes up to 100% without using any chemicals.

Odyssey is program solving the challenge; it provides a platform to the students
where the students can showcase their talents, skills and knowledge.
Problem and the challenge
Odyssey of the Mind is one kind of problem solving the challenge. The students from
a various background in Science, Math, Engineering and Arts can get participate in the
challenge. The problems are challenging; here the students will have to design mechanical
dinosaurs, will have to invent new factory machines and working vehicles (Odyssey of The
Mind). The participants from the Arts background will have to create props, will have to play
instruments, will have to involve in singing and costume-making. The participants will have
to turn Pandora’s box into a video game. The models are challenging, and the students
require creative problem skills to solve the challenge.
Solutions
Odyssey of the Mind provides a platform to the students where the students can show
their talents and expertise. The participants participating in the program from various
background must have interest in their subject background. The activities can be fun, and the
students can gain knowledge on numerous topics. The kids can learn with varying interests,
and in this way, they can form life-long friendships with the subject or stream. The students
must be encouraged to participate in the program as that can help them to build confidence
(Odyssey of The Mind). The challenge has been made cost-effective so that students can
perform and can give a try. The creative solutions developed over here can change the world
as well. For this reason, the students must study hard, must work hard and participate in the
challenge, the solution can give them numerous benefits.

It can be concluded from the above discourse that the scaling off-grid energy can
benefit the local community, this can diminish the usage of diesel and kerosene. It is
challenging to fight against Ebola; the global response has been showcased in the report. The
report has detailed the personal protective equipment like the health care worker suit, the
health care worker tools like STAMPS Sensor and Drip Assist has been highlighted the
report. Decontamination Highlight and Decontamination Chambers have been illustrated in
the report. The impact of Odyssey of Mind has been elaborated as well.
