Section 3:
Introduction paragraph
The aim of the paper is to provide an annotated bibliography based on the provided journal
articles. These journal articles would help in analysing the roles of the engineering managers in
the achievement of effective Sustainable engineering management. The role of the engineering
managers is significant and very important in the achievement of sustainability. They play a
significant role in enhancing the health and safety, welfare, while keeping the usage of natural
resources minimal, and also paying prior attention to the resources’ sustainability and the
environment. They are the option as well as solution providers for maximizing the social value and
minimizing the impact on the environment. There are several ways by which the engineering
managers can achieve sustainability. One of these is by contributing towards building the society,
present and the future sustainable. They have to recognize that despite their activities being
immediate and local, the impacts of their work could potentially be long-lasting and global. They
should possess an understanding of all the other significant cultural and social structures which
are external of their practice community. They should have an in-depth understanding of their
crucial role in the communities’ sustainable development. The influence and effects of an
engineering project on the local or global communities should be recognized by them, according
to which they should integrate their concerns and views regarding the communities.
