Engineering is a branch of study that helps in innovating new concepts for the
development of the society. Engineers are the one who innovate new ideas and things in the
society. An expert engineer always looks for engineering new things for personal and societal
development. They used to include new technologies and science knowledge for helping out and
meeting needs of people in society.
Labor markets experts describes that engineers plays an important role in the
development if the world. In Australia, there is a huge demand of engineers in every field. They
used to get high salaries in the market for premium contribution in the development of the
country.

In earlier days there were many misconceptions related to engineers in the society. In my
opinion, engineers have traveled a lot of difficulties to set up their image in the country. The
average family income of a family in Australia have increased by the contribution of engineers.
This is an example resembling the effective contribution of the engineers in the society for its
development. As an engineer, I need to improve the food supply in the country. The expert
advice of an engineer is a beneficial factor implementing the skilled contribution of many
people. There are many cases of dissatisfaction of engineers with their salaries.

An expert is a person who have knowledge about a particular field and have expertise
that in the life. There are various experts in various fields including leaders, businessman,
education and scientists. They are great performers in their respective field. Nelson Mandela was

particular field. They become an expert by mastering their field and having an effortless mastery

and motivation level of an expert is high and out of bound.

Through this reading I understand that hard practice and proper knowledge is required for
becoming an expert. I met with many experts in my university that motivates me to do same like
them. They have encouraged me in performing and describing my abilities and skills. My friends
and supporters have helped me in gathering knowledge and acquiring personal skills. Engineers
used to learn from others by watching their contribution in the society. Many senior engineers
used to guide me for gathering knowledge and excellence in my studies.

for managing a team. An effective oral and written communication is required for maintaining a
good professional behavior.

during my sport team in university. I have guided my team members for making strategies
against opponent team. It provides confidence in me to guide a team. This was easy for me as I
have knowledge regarding the sport and played a lot of games in my university. Therefore,
making strategies against the opponent team was easy for me. I instructed my team to perform

gap in my team that creates a lot of problem in the sport. My instruction were not followed

One of the most famous engineers in the history of engineering is Emily Roebling. She was the
first female engineer. She was the technical engineer and a field engineer to construct the famous
Brooklyn Bridge in New York. She started her career when her husband Washington Roebling
got paralyzed and was not able to work more. She completed the Brooklyn Bridge in 1883.
Emily Roebling had an excellent knowledge on stress analysis, calculating the curves of
catenary, strength of materials and about cable constructions. The impact that she gave on the
society was that she was the first female engineer to motivate all the women to join the
engineering sector which was then considered as a male dominated sector.

Procurement: There should be right time to contract all elements that are needed in the project.
Quality: All the availability, capacity and strength of the project are to be made clear.
Risk: The risk factors that come in dealing with the project are to me mitigated.

Managing time is one of the most crucial aspects of project management. There are many ways
to manage the time while handling a project. As a project manager, I should use resource
calendars to manage the time of a project. I should keep a look on the history of the projects so
as to get an overall idea about how to manage the time and learn from the previous mistakes that
were done. Judgment from the experts is a very important factor in time management. I should
also strategically think about the schedule.
The best behavior regarding time management that is followed by me is to do a particular work
in advance so that the work can be completed before the expected time. But this does not work

all the time which makes the worst behavior in managing the time. Sometimes I feel that the
work is going too fast which makes the working process slow serving as the late completion of

The stand out ideas that I got form the chapter “Managing a project” is uncertain nature of the
project management and how to deal with this uncertainty. The behavioral uncertainty can be
reduced by human diversity which is elaborately discussed in this chapter. A clear understanding
about mitigating the risk assessment and risk management factors that comes in project
management are clearly discussed in this chapter of Managing a project.
The factors that I have used before in managing a project are the time management, the risk
assessment and the risk assessment. The factors that I have not used at all are the idea of human
diversity.

time. Money can earn interest that provides a core principle in the finance. The present
discounted value is also referred to as the time value of money. The money that is present in
hand worth more than the money which is expected to receive in future. The reason for Time
Value of Money is very clear and straightforward.

is needed to represent the values which are an important factor that is to be considered. Money is
lent to someone for only some period of time and it is expected from him that the amount of

expert. Sustainability is the key focus in the area of engineering projects which was suggested by
