Learning Outcome 1: Lead or participate collaboratively in teams
What?
Collaboration can be referred as an action in which one person or group of person work with
other people for producing some meaningful results (Dettmer, et. al., 2013). Collaboration is
most important and integrated part of teams.
Positive impact
As per my consideration, team collaboration provides various advantages in individual and
people who work under a team. As per my own experience, I have learned different new
concepts and methods of engineering during my group studies. Apart from this, there are some
other positive impacts or advantages of participating collaboratively in teams. Improve
flexibility, while working in a team, all group members’ work in a flexible manner so that they
can adopt new changes as soon as possible. As per my point of view, employees can provide
better satisfaction by working in teams. Engage people, as per my consideration team
collaboration provides an opportunity to people to engage with others (Hall, et. al., 2014). In
other words, team collaboration is the best technique through which organisation can engage all
employees at one place. Good working environment, the concept of team collaboration helps
people in working together with mutual understanding so that they can accomplish desired goals
and objectives in effective manner. As per my point of view, team collaboration is good method
of creating positive working environment within workplace. An innovative idea, team
collaboration is not an easy task it needs cooperation of all team members. According to my
point of view, organisation can generate more profit only by taking help of innovative business
ideas which can become possible only by encourage employee to participate collaboratively in
teams. Increased profitability, when all team member work together for completing one single
task then they do it in effective manner which helps organisation in generating high financial
profit. As per my consideration, team collaboration is very much important for business
enterprise because without employees’ cooperation it cannot accomplish its desired outcomes
(Jorm, et. al., 2016). Hence, these are some major positive impact of team collaboration which
helps organisation as well as individuals in improving their productivity as well as current

performance within workplace. Also, it helps in creating good working environment which
promote the organisational culture.
Negative impact
Just liked advantages, there are few disadvantages of team collaboration which I have identified;
the biggest disadvantage of collaboratively working in a team is that it creates chances of dispute
within team members. As per my point of view, senior management considers the point of view
of stronger personalities which demotivate other team members. For team collaboration, senior
managers have to assign roles and responsibilities to all team embers but sometimes people
misuse their responsibilities and produce negative results (Halpern, 2013). According to my
observation, team collaboration requires lots of time because in this team leader have to finalise
one decision after consulting with all team members.
What else?
As per my point of view, an organisation can get rid of organisational disputes by creating
positive relationships within all team members. In other words, if there will be good bonding
among all group members than chances of conflicts and misunderstanding will be low which
remove the organisational conflict. For removing negative impact of team collaboration, I would
suggest that organisation should provide equal opportunity to all team embers so that they can
also participate and decision-making process and represent their views of ideas. For saving the
time, a business enterprise should assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and provide
them with a time limit for all tasks so that they can be completed within given time duration
(Johnson, 2014). By broadening the team collaboration problem I have learned many things
which I can sue in my professional life.
What now?
I have improved my team building skills with the help of above-mentioned discussion. I can use
my team management leadership and team building skills in my future professional life. The
team collaboration will help me in my college time as well as in building successful career life.
Without collaborating with my colleges I cannot become a good business manager and without
cooperating with my college friends I cannot score good marks. So team collaboration is

Learning Outcome 2: Demonstrate critical self-review, self-management and
lifelong learning
What?
Self-management is that process in which one person manage, handle, direct and control all
activities by taking own responsibility. Lifelong learning is that on-going procedure which
provides huge knowledge and skills to individuals (Ku, et. al., 2013). The concept of critical
thinking is helpful in summarising and evaluating one problem so that effective judgement can
be made.
Positive impact
As per my consideration, self-management is a most effective skill which can help people in
managing their professional as well as personal life. I consider self-management as a most
important skill which helps people in realizing their talents which they can use for increasing
their productivity. Also, it makes individual enthusiastic with high self-motivation. By taking
help of self-management skill I can make myself able to accomplish my desired goals in a more
effective manner (Silver, et. al., 2013). Also, it leads an individual towards personal growth as
well as development. The self-esteem and self-esteem are some most important beliefs which can
be enhanced by focusing more on self-management skills. Moreover, I consider lifelong learning
as a most effective procedure which provides an opportunity to people so that they can develop
their skills, abilities and current knowledge. In the present time, all most people focus on lifelong
learning so that they can continuously develop their knowledge. As per my observation, if the
individual will engage in lifelong learning then they can enhance the level of their knowledge
and on the basis of that, they can get good jobs and salary packages (Lennon, et. al., 2013). Most
of the people take advice from that person who is engaged in lifelong learning because they
provide most effective judgements. Apart from this, there are some other benefits of lifelong
learning which are improved self-confidence, keeps brain sharp and healthy, improves practical
life skills and develop positive behaviour. Moreover, critical review is also an effective aspect
which allows people to see positive and negative sides of something. As per my consideration,
critical thinking just not a concept also it helps people in building most effective, successful and

efficient problem-solving skills which play a most significant role within the workplace.
Sometimes, it is also considered as criticism which has its own advantages as well as
disadvantages. I consider critical thinking as a most effective approach which helps in increasing
the chances of success. Most of the individuals already know that what information is relevant to
their decision making but most of the time they do not know how to filter relevant as well as
irrelevant information. I this situation, critically thinking helps in deciding that what should be
prioritised and what should not.
Negative impact
The biggest negative impact of critical thinking is that it can lead people into the frightening and
new territory. As per my consideration, critical thinking force people to criticise all things which
sometimes make them negative person (Schuetze and Slowey, 2013). Furthermore, I have
realised that sometimes self-management results in the extended time period, inefficiency,
recklessness and overconfidence. Some people become overconfident regarding their self-
management which influences negative impact on their personality. As per my own experience,
lifelong learning is not an easy task. One person cannot always stay connected with learning
programs. It is a time-consuming process so it wastes the time for many people. It is not an easy
task to learn so many things and keep remind then for the long time period, this is the main
reason that why lifelong learning is not considered as an effective process. Hence, these are some
major negative impacts of critical thinking, self-management and lifelong learning which I have
identified through my self-reflection
What else?
As per my consideration, people can overcome the problems of critical thinking by collecting
valid and reliable evidence. If people will use authenticate information or knowledge than they
do not have to critically analyze that information or knowledge. Apart from this, the negative
impact of self-management can be removed by completing the different task in given time
period. By becoming more conscious and responsible towards own roles and responsibilities
people can easily manage themselves in an appropriate manner (Shinnick and Woo, 2013). The
lifelong learning is a time-consuming process so the individual should learn only those concepts
or models which are important for their personal or professional life. By learning limited things
