Introduction
Working as trainee manager in Tesla presently there is analysis of the potential strength and
weakness in the team. Present report is based on making analysis of the belbin team roles and
there is analysis of the primary and secondary team roles (Donde and Ragsdale, 2021). Further
based on it there is discussion of the potential strength and weakness in the engineering team.
There is reflection of the personal responsibilities in the engineering team.
Belbin Role Test Discuss your primary and secondary team roles
Team role theories are specific to different team roles. These roles can be organisational,
functional, personal or skilful;. Each team consist of various team roles that depends on
particular goals that team is willing to achieve.
Primary team roles:
In the present scenario of working in team the primary team roles are mentioned below:
Shaper: shapers are the ones who are challenging teams for further improvement (Chung and
Sheridan, 2021). They are extroverted and dynamic people who enjoy stimulating others and
development of best approaches for solving problems.
Implementer (IMP): Implementers are the ones who are willing to get things done, they are
turning concepts and ideas in practical actions and plans. In this role the main work was to
implement all the aspect and working as per requirement of various allotted tasks.
Secondary job roles:
Coordinator (CO): In this role the main task was to guide the team and perceive their objectives.
In this main working was to be excellent listener and recognize the value that each team member
is bringing to team.
Resource investigator (RI): It is the secondary associated role of being curious and innovative.
This role was very important to be creative and allot all the resources effectively to achieve team
goals.
Monitor-evaluator (ME); it is important to identify the best analysing of ideas and evaluating of
ideas (Loveday, 2018) . The main task in this role is to keep a check on all the activities that are
to be performed as part of the team working.

The main potential strength based on analysing the above belbins primary and secondary team
roles are mentioned below: Creativity skills; as per the the role of resource investigator there is high amount of
innovation and creativity skills that is utilised. Management skills: For the purpose of performing the role of implementer in the team
where each activity is require to be managed in such a way that Enthusiasm: It is related with implementing all the plans and actions in a more effective
manner. For the purpose of motivating each of the team members it is very necessary to
have the required level of enthusiasm. Time management skills: Managing of time is very important so that all the deadlines are
achieved and there is no delay in the work. In this perspective there is division of work as
per Specified time period that helps in enhanceable of overall productivity.
Group working: Collaborative working practises is very important and is one of the
strongest attributes that is helping in inspiring diverse team members for the purpose of
achievement of project goals (Peters, 2019). It helped in the process of inspiring the
diverse team members and working side by side to achieve the prpject goals.
Potential weakness:
there are some of the potential weakness that are mentioned below: Presentation skills: It is related with the skill of not being able to present the views and
ideas which may posses a impact on the overall way of making the work understand to
other team members in the engineering team. Lack of self confidence: It is also a weakness which may affect the overall working of
the team. Self confidence may affect the process of managing the overall activities of the
team. It may affect the present functioning of the various activities and the process of
achieving the laid group goals.
Critical thinking skills: While performing th job roles as a critical thinker there can be
lack of self confidence which is the identified weakness and can posses a impact in the
process of decision making (Sun, Lee and Qian, 2019). It may lead to difficulty in
analysing the information before making any type of conclusions.

Reflect on your personal responsibility within an engineering team
It is the responsibility of the that all the working has to be properly managed. For this purpose it
becomes important to develop a detail understanding of the specific team roles. Apart from this it
is also necessary to properly allocate each of the activity to team members as per specified
acquirements of various job roles and responsibility. My present strength is that is posses the
required collaborative working practises and goal oriented behaviour that helps in the process of
using it as a project management tool. It leads towards effective and proper management of all
the available resources that is required to achieve the laid aims and objectives of the team
functioning. Another effective strength is using of my skills to manage people so that there is
timely recognition of onions constructively and betterment of team members. Monitor and
evaluators may lack the energy to motivate the other team members. My role as a resource
instigator helps in the process of building up the required networking and negotiating skills. It
helps in being quick thinkers and getting the required information from people.

Conclusion
It is summarized from the above made analysis that there are specific team working roles
that is primary and secondary job roles that are to be effectively performed in order to achieve it
for performing the assigned work. There are also some of the associated weakness that are to be
taken into consideration in order to avoid and manage its impact on the overall functioning of the
team.
