1PROJECT PLAN
Field of Research: The topic of research is role of engineers in Sustainable Development. This
topic is chosen for engineering management because it is believed that engineers are the future
builders of the world. It is found that the existing resources are depleting day by day. Therefore,
to it is the role of the engineer to effectively plan strategies to ensure sustainable development
and innovate new methods such that the future generations will also have the opportunity to
utilize these resources for the advancement of technology and betterment of the society.
Use of secondary data: The research will be mainly carried on with the help of secondary data
that will broadly describe the need for such development, will provide information on areas
where sustainable development is required, will give statistical data on percentage of resources
already utilized by the industries and the percentage of resources remaining.

Research Questions: 1.How the engineers are helping to save the available resources for
future? 2. What role engineers play in developing the society?
Search terms: What is Sustainable Development and why it is needed, what are the duties of
engineer towards the environment and society, strategies planned by the engineers for
sustainable use of resources.
Articles review that sustainable development is required to save the resources for future
use. As engineers can change the world, they will be able to change the existing methods of
resource usage and convert them sustainable use. The two variable terms in the topic are usage
of the non-renewable resources and the areas where these resources are utilized.
