The article is a well-researched critical debate, which investigates the practice of
social media and the impact it has on the health promotion. This health promotion review
highlights the best ways to aware the public of the wrong ideas that prevail in the health
sector. There are several misinformation, which might lead the public to believe in the wrong
way about medical disasters and might not be able to cope up with the intensity in the proper
manner.
The article discusses the promotion of health studies in the social media (Jane). This
helps the literature review to provide a proper insight of the health related disasters from all
over the world. It also helps in the understanding of the different types of social media
promotion that are used in the different parts of the world. He article highlights the different
aspects, which reflects that the social media tool is still not used as the most popular method
of promotion by the different government bodies all over the world (Jane). The government
bodies are primarily dependent on the traditional methods of promotion, which are based on
active communication to the people over advertisements and notifications over the televisions
and radios. Most of the arguments are of the idea that in the modern era of the 21st century
maximum number of people are more attached to the social media sites than the traditional
modes of entertainment (Jane). People nowadays spent more time on the social media surfing
the internet for different ideas and information. Social media plays the most active part in
providing those information as it is shared to a large number of population in a considerably
shorter period of time from anywhere in the world. Similarly, health disasters are always a
part of the global disasters and concerns the entire population of the world. If a health related

population at a shorter period of time. The traditional methods of television and radio are
available to a limited number of people limited to a specific area (Jane). Multiple promotions
and multiple airing over the network is required to reach out to a number of people, which is
at the same time, both time and money consuming.
The primary finding from the study includes the fact that the different media and the
government houses should use the social media for reaching out to the public in order to
avoid crises such as outbreak of a contagious disease. The article states that the use of social
media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook, should be increased by the different agencies
in order to reach out to a greater number of people at a shorter period of time (Jane).
However, in many different developed nations, it has been observed that the use of social
media has been playing an active role in the promotion of health related issues. The literature
review states that in the corresponding literatures it is discussed that many government
institutions are actively using the social media with the help of the partner agencies to build
the familiarity of the promotion style among the population (Jane). More awareness will help
the people to watch out for social media notifications which will always keep them updated
about the recent trends of the social media. These promotion methods will also help in the
understanding of the health related crises that occur all over the world and help the
population to be aware of certain aspects, which can help to avoid future disasters.
The research has been conducted on the US agencies such as health departments and
the local bodies and it has been found that the few agencies that use the social media for
promotion are more successful in reaching out to the vulnerable population to spread
awareness about health issues and related problems.
