This EAP 1 portfolio, submitted on August 22nd, 2018, is a comprehensive assessment of academic skills. It includes self-evaluation checklists, literature research with four texts analyzed, and a self-assessment form. The quality of education
provided by universities is not up
to the mark in England which is a
major problem face by the
students of higher education.
In England, male and female of higher
education system faces problem
related to the quality of education
provided by the universities is not
good and as a result it creates a
negative impact on the career of
youths. However it has been evaluated
that if the universities provide better
quality of education will help to lead
better life for a students.

The food and accommodation
facility is another major
challenge that is faced by male
and female of higher education in
England. This is a basic facility
which every student needs in
order to lead a healthy life style.
England is one of the well developed
country but students of higher
education face problem of food as
well as accommodation which is
consider basic necessity of every
living being. However it has been
evaluated that students are shifted or
leave their cities in order to not get
proper food and accommodation
facility which creates negative impact
on the country.

England have to adjust in order to
lead or start new life in totally
different area. At that time they
face a problem of habituation and
orientation which combine
known as adjustment.
In England, students faces another
major problem with higher education
system i.e. adjustment or habituation

somehow lead to depression and on
the other side, they require

plays an effective role because they

problem face by male as well as

system of England due to lack of

universities.
In England, unemployment is another
concerning challenges which are face
by students because they are quite
depressed as they are not provided

educators. As it will lead to spoilage
of their career and find difficulties to
find better job. However, it has been
evaluated that it will lead to affect
their mental as well as physical health.

I do my work better in while rephrasing the sentence and even can avoid plagiarism. I make better
plan in order to increase brainstorming and can reflect myself by concluding my strength as well
as weakness. I know how to use internet while surfing and can plan my whole work schedule
easily.

I am not well communicating my problems with my teacher so for this I need to improve my
communication skills and even I do not know how to use search engines in order to increase my
searching power. I do not work independently because I find myself comfortable in doing study
with team.
What areas do I still need to improve? (approx. 50 words):
To improve my communication skill I start attending training sessions and to improve my
searching power I consult with my teachers to know the proper use of internet as well as search
engines. As I feel comfortable to work in group rather than working independently so I can

Challenges for male and female students in higher education in England
In England more than 4 billion students are in higher education and they faces numerous
challenges, some of them are mention below:
 Both male and female of a college face a problem related to food and accommodation.
These both are consider one of the necessary thing to survive. Food is not provide in well
condition which affect the lifestyle of a students. On the other side, accommodation is the
first problem face by them which force them to leave their cities and move to another state/
city for living. As a result, a great number of youths leave their families in order to get best
education (Ball, 2017).
 Another problem is related to habituation and orientation which commonly known as
adjustment. Today's generation will not come up with proper adjustment and as a result they
feel themselves depressed (Brown, 2018). In higher universities, particular professors are
hire in order to provide adjustment training that include psychological services. These
training will help the student’s newly starting university to adjust with new environment and
conditions and even it will help them to take better decision for their career or future.
 Another most important problem is quality of education which is provided in a university.
In England, professors are not qualified in some university as a result students are not able
to crack many exams and spoil their future (Cropley, 2014). On the other side, universities
also do not have sufficient physical structure with foreign language education. To improve
this, colleges need smart educators who must have 4 basic skills i.e. listening, reading,
speaking and writing.
 Every youth wants good job and the problem of unemployment in a country is another
biggest issue face by the students. Newly graduated people find difficulties to find better
jobs in order to upgrade their future (Barr and et.al., 2018). The students who study in
higher education feels that whether they get better jobs or not because of lack of well-
educated teachers because this directly impact on their career and this is consider one of the
most serious psychological problem in country.
 Next problem is lack of information and research studies in higher education system. In
England, physical condition of universities also consider one of the major factor that affect
the quality of education. Every universities need preliminary information in order to put all

sources into service using efficient way, but these are also not provided by them for the
well-functioning of students (Ballantine, Hammack and Stuber, 2017).
 Crowded classroom, physically insufficient building, lack of special classroom for meeting
or to carry out some social activity are another major challenge that is face by them.
 Early marriages, household responsibilities are the major challenges face by girls which
creates negative impact on them and force them to leave school/ colleges without
completing it (Gardner, 2018).

What impact might the situation you have discussed in question 1 above have for you as
a student in higher education?
In England, I analysed that both male and female faces various types of problem which are discuss
but these problem somehow affect the youth in negative way. As a result, these challenges leads to
affect their future or career. The first problem is relate to food and accommodation, which
adversely impact on me as a student of higher education. The quality of education is also not
provided accordingly or up to the mark which somehow affect the future of a student. Being a
student of higher education, it is quite necessary aspect that there should be well education system
which help every students to achieve all targets. But in England, there is a lack of well and
sufficient building as well as professors which leads to create wrong impact on them.
A crowded classroom and insufficient building structure also decrease a morale of student. As a
student I need positive environment of classroom which help to make me feel comfortable in the
study area. A crowded classroom will lead to create negative impact on every students and there
should be some extra social activities places such as gym, swimming pool which help to attract
many students in order to study here. If the system of all the universities are well defined than it
will help in better development of the students. A well-educated teachers help to give motivation
to their students and as a result they leads for a better result of their students. Another problem face
by students is unemployment which create negative impact on the life of people. Generally, due
to lack of sufficient educators, students are not have efficient potential to face the job this is
somehow decrease the morale of all the young people and unfortunately, students find trouble in
order to find better jobs as per their needs.
