A Worn Path is a short storey which was written by Eudora Whelty. In the short story, the
readers are told the story of an African American named Phoenix Jackson and the journey
which she undertakes for medicines for her grandson. Along the way, she comes across the
numerous obstacles but she manages to overcome all the difficulties because of her love for
her grandson. Therefore, the story is said to be the one of the best stories written by the
author
The purpose of this analysis is to find how the setting influences the protagonist’s
decisions through the RTW method.
In the story, the readers find that there have been various obstacles present in the path
of the protagonist as she went to bring the medicines which were to be required grandson in
this matter. Therefore, the topic of this sentence would be to ensure that the analysis of the
setting of the scene which influences those characters actions is well analysed in this manner.
The analysis for this topic will be done in the form of the RTW method used (Sarcone, 2013).
These methods used would help the readers to realize about the subject matter presented
easily to them. In this case, the subject matter would be to analyse the settings in the story
itself which have led the readers to analyse the subject matter on their own (Welty, 2016).
