Introduction
The teaching of second language is quite difficult as it is an additional thing to learn for a
particular individual. At birth people are more used to their mother tongue as they see their
parents and their relatives talking in that language (Zamin and Hasan 2018). Moreover, the
language is ingrained in to the individual as a result of the sharing of the same genetics with their
parents. However, in the modern world, the knowing of more than one language is considered to
be absolutely essential and hence there is a need to know a second language (Hall 2017). Being
the most commonly spoken language, it is preferable that people should know English.
Research Aim
The aim of this research is to analyze how English can be taught as a second language
through the medium of translation and the impact of such a method of teaching on the concerned
students.
Research Objectives
The research objectives of the proposal that translation is an effective means of teaching

Methodology
In order to execute the research in an effective manner, the data collection method for the
purpose of the research will be carried out with the help of qualitative analysis of the secondary
sources. Qualitative analysis refers to the way to the subjective consideration of the data that will
be collected (Silverman 2016). This ensures a more humane and a deep rooted analysis of the
data. Secondary sources refer to those sources which have already been written and produced by
other people such as academic journals and articles, books and websites among others (Houghton

et al. 2015). The qualitative analysis of such secondary sources will not only provide a subjective
outlook of these sources but will also show to the readers what is the importance of translation is
teaching English as a second language to the people. It will also reveal to the people the various
advantages and disadvantages of translation being used as a medium of teaching. The critical
evaluation will also depend upon such qualitative analysis.
