The theory of Hofstede's cultural dimension is an outline to calculate cultural variances
between several nations. He trusts that culture is a psychological procedure distributed by
persons in one atmosphere, which can discriminate a group of persons from another. According
to the research, he described the variances between several cultures into six measurements of
cultural standards. The subsequent measurements are individualism, power distance, uncertainty
avoidance, masculinity, indulgence and long term orientation.
Initially, power distance mentions to the receiving of unequal circulation of power in
culture or society by people. In business, it can be assumed as the communal distance between
managers and employees. The US is a nation with a reasonably short power distance. American
workforces tend not to receive the idea of management. For instance, in the moving picture,
before the Japanese enterprise move to the municipality, American workers can listen to music,
learn the newspaper or even smoke a cigar throughout the work. Additionally, Japan is a
hierarchical civilization. For example, in the movie, Japanese workers want to listen to the
manager's order, and they have the strategy to follow. Also, the executive wants to listen to the
business's boss order.
Then, the US as an individualist civilization which is a kind of loose social business
structure, in which everyone pays attention to their standards and requirements and trusts on their
efforts to seek profits for themselves. For instance, in the movie, Japanese staff discovers faults
on a car made by the American worker. Though, American worker rejects to fix the faults instead
of recovering the quality of industrialist's products. Besides Japan as a socialist culture which is a
thoroughly combined social business, in which they are categorically trustworthy to the group.
For instance, in the movie, the Japanese employee is very trustworthy to the company, and they

are much honored when the business does well. They humiliated when work does poorly. They
do not do for a salary; they do it for business authority.
Masculinity specifies a society will be determined by achievement, rivalry and
achievement. The US and Japan have a high score of masculinity, which denotes persons as a
group of both nations wish to do their best in order to the extent one goal. They consider the
champion or highest in the field as their objective and inspiration. For example, in the movie, in
Japan, they can yield 15,000 cars in one month with zero defect. It develops the American
employee's motivation and goal. Also, in the movie, Japanese workers build essence in work and
competition in baseball. In effort, Japanese workers think only of business and with one
determination only just because they want to be a success.
Finally, hesitation avoidance mentions in any civilization, and people will feel a risk to
the indeterminate ambiguous and assured circumstances, so they always try to avoid it. There are
many techniques to avoid it. In Japan, they deliver bigger career constancy, make more
recognized rules in work and regular life. They do not permit open-minded opinions and actions,
follow authentic things. For instance, in the picture show, Japanese workers follow the work's
strategy every day, cannot leave early at work and cannot be late at work. Besides, one Japanese
worker's wife is giving birth in the hospital. However, the Japanese worker's supervisor is not
permitted him leaving work to business his wife.
On the other side, in the movie, American workers do not need to follow much
regulation. In the movie, one American worker's son has an operation of getting tonsils out, and
he needs to leave throughout the work to business his son after the operation. Americans respect
this as usual. Conversely, the Japanese have an intolerance of leaving throughout the work.
