INTRODUCTION
Traditional Contractor is mainly focused on the least cost selection method for construction
project and improve the performance of entire project in proper manner. usually, A least cost
selection of bid, A minimum qualifying marks required in context of quality of technical
proposal that shall be prescribed as benchmark and indicate in tender conditions along with
scheme. Afterwards, it will be allotting the best quality of marks for different technical criteria.
The research project is related to the least cost selection method, this is something explained
as design-bid-build. Such bidding processes may also include estimated or calculated
construction project. Nowadays, it is increasingly the demand of competitive bidding process
which means that places a prime contractor or owner in construction project. A particular
situation may be arises and become as undesirable result or outcome for project quality. In this
report, it will discuss about the concept of least cost selection method for construction project,
and also identify its significant impact on success. Moreover, it will determine effect of least cost
selection, and compare different best practices in context of construction projects.

Research Scope and limitation
The primary scope of research project is to identify least cost or price selection by using
bidder selection within multiple construction project. It is become great opportunity for
researcher to find both positive as well as negative impact on the success factors. Nowadays, it
has already exists high competition level which needs to be identified the suitable process policy
and derived its importance within conduction project.
The limitation of this project is expected the poor record of information or data. It is
difficult to keep maintain by procurement entities and access confidential information from
tender evaluation or adjustment.
Research Significance
The importance of research study is to identify the multiple variation in the construction
project as per consideration of least cost selection method or technique. This will directly impact
on the time, cost, and quality on building projects. There are various kind of perception arise and
impact on the operational activities particularly by supporting resistance to change.
Subsequently, it will be decided to find the better opportunity and aspect to handle the
construction project. It also satisfying the expectation level of potential client. Within study,
investigator will determine the functioning of competitiveness and construction, while
identifying perceptions which has limits.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
It is based on the process or method that involves finding, a less or more systematic
manner. In this research study, main reason for using research methodology which means that
collect or gather large amount of information but it is relevant to research topic or subject.
Investigator will use qualitative research method because it is based on theoretical aspect
and help to find the better result or outcome.
In context of data collection, Investigator will choose primary data collection method for
gathering suitable information or data from sources. Within study, researcher will use
questionnaires to identify the answer of particular questions.

the opinion or view point of construction professionals. To receive a proper response and

Contractor will be selecting the least cost selection method. It is kind of tricky approach which
may help to identify challenge in bid evaluation. For that reason, It should be considered models,
framework which have been created to help owner in evaluating least cost selection method. In
some situation, the lowest price and bidder system can help to protect improper practices at the
time of construction project.
Schandorf and Addy (2021) said that This can include unreasonable lower bids either
accidentally or deliberately. So as, it is directly impact on the overall construction project.
Sometimes, it cause extensive delay, overrun, and quality problems and increased any kind of
dispute. But when using low cost selection method that help to manage bidder system and also

factor guiding the selection of contractors in different construction projects. Cost-based selection
is one of the great opportunity that selection of construction project by owner or client, who are
primarily supports in competitiveness of their bid amount. However, the effect of cost selection
may be increased the problem or issue for construction project and its overall performance.
Sometimes, it would indicate the engagement in bid cutting to win a contract. Therefore, it is an
important to focus on the bid cutting which is mainly defined as practice by project constructors
lower bid price cost or price. In this way, the owner of construction were gaining more advantage
or benefits over other competitors in bidding process. Nowadays, it has been rapidly increasingly
the pressure of competition level, market preferences, and business survivals among various
forces. It will be bidding lower and owner find it hard to resists paying more attention.
As per Odame and Acheampong (2021) the main consequences of Cost selection process
is that increase level of risk, threat while reducing profit level. It may often leave the constructor
with a loss. Despite, there are different kind of risks for selecting the contractor with lowest bid,
mainly focused on the large number of construction project which require a proper price or cost
selection, otherwise it will directly affecting the performance of construction project.
Theme-3 Compare the best practices
According to Harrison-Zotsi and Dansoh (2021), there are different practices used in the
construction project. If in case, it has used the least cost selection method at the time of project.
Procurement- it is one of the important steps where selecting a proper method for
construction management. Accordingly, it has become easier for contractors to use cost selection
method and then create excellent design of team members. Afterwards, it will be delivering the
excellence construction project.
Partnering- it is another kind of traditional practice but it can be used into different
working style. At the time of construction project, this takes a collaborative practices while
identifying the value of expenditure, higher profit level, quality improvement, pricing, problem

resolution and prediction of project completion. These are consider as an important aspect to
continuous improve the overall performance of construction project in proper manner.
Risk management- it is another important practice in which identified the risk factors at
the time of construction project. On the other hand, it should be consider as risk management
practices which help to enter all risk and face from its starting point. Onubi and Hassan
(2020)As per consideration of least cost selection method, it will help to encounter risk and
manage, recover in proper manner.
Value management- it is based on the key practice which takes into account time,
price/cost and risk constraints. This can help to meet the requirement for client. In context of
construction project, a least cost selection approach is already gained more value but it is
important to understand the use of value management practices. It involve complete
collaboration with team members. Therefore, contractor of construction project will maintain and
control design patterns. This type of value chain practice is generating a right option to satisfy
the requirements of its potential client.
