Introduction
The reflection learning process involves becoming aware of the thinking process of
their own self. In this process, the student becomes able to assess ‘how’ and ‘why’ of the
learning and ‘what’ one should do to achieve better results in future. The purpose of this
assignment is to have a reflection on my learning experience in the Enterprise Development
module on Skin IQ. As opined by Ghanizadeh (2017), the reflective analysis of my
assignment would definitely help me in my future work process. The assessment that is done
through reflective learning adds to the experience and experimentations. The reflection
learning process is based on three main aspects, i.e. experience, reflection and action. The
Gibb’s model is based on experiential learning that states our experience of a work is the base
of next from of experience (Reynolds and Vince 2017). For my reflective report I would use
Gibb’s model. Therefore, it could be said that reflection is an effective practice to transform
our experience into more substantial outcomes for the future situation. This assessment was
divided into two categories. The first was to develop a group, and the other is a business plan
for a new product. Lastly, reflection was to be done on our learning experience of this group
work. The reflection cycle is built on the basis of Gibb’s reflection cycle.
Description
I started studying my MSC in Marketing at the beginning of 2019. I decided to
register for the course as I was eager to learn different marketing strategies and techniques in
theory and practical. I want to gather knowledge of business aspects so that I can do better in
my future endeavours. This module was based on enterprise development. The tutors gave us
all the information about the module and its content so that we would be able to learn the
process. Related Information for the reflective essay was provided by the tutor in the middle
of the course. Initially our tutor introduced us with the basic concepts of management and

marketing. Later we delve deep into the concepts of value propositions, marketing, finance,
and human resource planning and supply chain management in business. After the initial and
detailed classes on business we are told about our assignments of marketing plan developing
and reflective learning. We were assigned some time to decide the topic of our group
presentation. After some discussion with my group people, we finally decided to work with
new product development in the beauty business. I have designated the role of marketing
analyser for our new product. I was happy with my part of assignment as I would get the
scope to learn more of the market situation. This was the second part for marketing planning
and I was able to present a feasible marketing analysis for the group work.
Feelings
My feelings about creating the business plan with my group were quite complicated at
the first part. I did not have any experience of working in a group earlier. I was quite eager to
do the group work, but the requirement and deadline pressure got me at first. My role in the
group was one of the most important one as the plan would be built on the basis of the market
research done by me. I started by overviewing some marketing websites and gathered
information of the beauty product industry. I was struggling to give my research a specific
direction at the initial stage. I talked to my tutor about this and he helped me a lot to
categorise my search items. Other than that the short deadline for the assignment gave me
extra stress (Horton-Deutsch and Sherwood 2017). My team members were quite helpful but
one of them was not much motivated in doing the task properly. When I needed some help
from him for my part of job he simply refused to do that. This made be a bit doubtful of my
other team members as well. But I realised that the rest of them were always ready to help.
Time management is one of the most important things that troubled me throughout the
assignment. By the end of the assignment, I was able to check the problems of my time
management and made the required changes in my time planning.

Our group was full of diversity as students from different country and culture was the
part of it. As the post graduate students, our teacher has already taught us about the perks of a
diverse team. But when we stared working together, I feel there was some lack of
communication in the first place, but once it was managed, I got the chance to learn a lot
from them. In spite of all this, I feel that one of my group members do not take his task
seriously. He procrastinated to submit his part of the task. This created problems for other
team members as this is a group assignment, and the work progress was depended to each-
other. About my progress and learning achievement in this project, I think I could have done
better regarding my academic outcomes. I have tried to give my best in every level, yet I
think there is scope for development in my communication and time management as well.
Evaluation
Overall the module was delivered with most of the positive outcomes. The first thing
that I have achieved in this module was ideas for developing marketing plans, doing market
research and working as the part of a group (Travers, Morisano and Locke 2015). My work in
this assignment was related to the market research, and the tutor of marketing helped me a lot
in achieving my goals in this project. This assignment has enhanced my knowledge and
experience of developing marketing plans, time management, and working in a team.
Our team has worked potentially to get the marketing plan done properly. There were
some challenges like procrastination by the members and slight communication gaps. But all
were managed by the end of the assignment professionally. There were some problems in
priority setting among the team members. The tutors helped effectively to mark the
differences and difficulties in the group and guided to the possible solution for these.

Analysis
I analysed the work pattern of our group and the outcome of this assignment. It could
be said that, there was some initial misconception and mis-communication among the group
member at the first stage, but the marketing plan we presented was considered as one of the
creative and practical one. We have been able to complete our assignment on time and
submit it according to the requirements. We were able to do a moderate job in the marketing
plan for the new product launch. My understanding of the team was not strong at the first as
there was a lack of planning and communication at the first stage. But I have managed to
keep patience and observe the nature of my group members. There was some part of the team
who were less organised in the whole assignment. We all managed to fulfil the gap through
teamwork.
I have learnt a good deal form this assignment and have realised that I could have
done more in this assignment. The market research could have been more detailed as well as
the plan for marketing. Logistics and supply chain part of the plan was not strong. This is the
major drawback in this assignment for our group. We have a huge scope for developing an
effective supply chain management and logistics development for our market plan. The
teams should be built strategically so that they could help each other in the time of crisis. I
have realised that each and every person in the group should take responsibility for their part
of the job. Personally, I have a scope of increasing my compatibility with the people in my
group and also I have to improve my thinking skills.
Conclusion
I can conclude by saying that I have learnt a lot of the time management and group
work. I have learnt that there would be diversity in the group, and the individuality of the

members might sometimes be challenging. But one should not stop working on their
potentiality and priorities throughout.
Action plan
I would like to increase my competency in choosing the group members for my
projects. I have to be more strategic in managing time and learning development. From next
time, I would try to be self-motivated for my assignments so that I would not require any
external agents for motivating me in my tasks (Brockbank, McGill and Beech 2017). I would
put more efforts into completing my individual task with competency and skilfully.
Increasing my academic and marketing skills would be my priority. I would work on my
skills, taking clues from my experience from this task to my future situations.
