The CEO, Tata Motors Company was presented by the ICT manager for the company
with Globe app presentation. Since our mission as a comp-any is to improve versatility
arrangements with enthusiasm and upgrade the personal satisfaction the CEO adopted the app.
Also, the goal of the app is to fulfill client desires and driving reasonable portability solution,
CEO gave the green light that we in the ICT department embark on the process of building
Globe app as soon as possible.
The ICT department has for so long time desired to come up with an app which meets the goals
of the company. In lieu to this the department, has assembled a highly experienced team in
mobile application development to complete this challenging project. Our team will include
individual from within the ICT department and two individuals who will be hired from outside
the department from Google Company who have adverse experienced on mobile application
development. The project is take almost one month where every week the project members are
supposed to present to Tata motors stakeholders in the status of the project. The ICT department
will operate a parallel program starting from the second week on active training program to other
team members on Globe app.
The ICT department has made notable progress in a number of areas as compared to
other departments. The department was able to come up with dynamic website for the Company

which implements the current technologies such HTML5. This reduced the barriers of
communication between the staff members were able to create accounts on the site and able to
communicate to the CEO on status of their departmental goals.
We appreciate the opportunity given by the company to submit our report on how we
intend to carry out the project and with our proven experience and record, we are very confident
we will deliver an application which is able to increase employee productivity and improve every

Executive summary
With the availability of mobile devices and smartphones, currently organizations and
various companies can afford unique opportunities which streams from their internal processes to
the current technologies. Due to the ease of mobile phones portability and advanced mobile
technologies, organizations can attract more customers to their premise by just streamlining their
internal processes. This report outlines the process of coming up with our globe app which will
include various functions both to the Tata Motors company and to the employer. The application
will bring everyone within the company under one roof. The application will have six
development goals which will include managing accounts and reducing communication barrier
within Tata Motors Company. To develop the application, the software development team will
follow agile methodology guidelines which follows an incremental approach. The development
team will use MEAP infrastructural platform for development. The software development team
will be nine of them, seven from within the organization and two from Google development
Company.

Global app, is and android application seeking to enhance service delivery within Tata Motors.
The application will focus in providing great in-house service delivery within Tata motors.
Global app with have six major objectives which are managing workforce, enhancing
communication barriers within the company, offering online recruitment, time-saving, and
managing accounts. The application is web-based, scaled, and packaged to be launched in mobile
devices. The application will improve Tata motors brand reputation. The application will also
display information about Tata Motors. It will also offer a platform for communication among

the organization employees. The application will be compatible on all mobile devices and
android-based phones.
Proposed solution
Tata Motors is the worldwide leading automobile manufacturer; it is the India largest and
the only original equipment manufacturer. Tata Motors is seeking to improve its increase its
service delivery. Due to this the company IT department has come-up with an application known
as globe app which will include various functions that will assist both the company and the
employees. The app will bring everyone within the organization under one application such as
tasks, helpdesk, accounts, announcement, and tasks. The app will also result in promoting
employees relations and the company’s administration. The app will bring new level by
eliminating communication barriers. One global will have six major functions which are
managing the company workforce, offering online recruitment, time saving, and managing
accounts. To the employees globe app will ensure that the employees connect with the company
administrations, participate in making company decisions, and access to financial accounts. To
Tata motors it offer benefits such as direct connection with employees, and having a motivated
workforce.

Most of organizations consider governance in IT as one of the top influential factors for
creating competitive advantage and business value. One globe app will, re-align Tata motors
company operations by building a direct relationship with the organization employees. Second,
the mobile application will assists in building a database for prospects clients. Third, one global
app needs maintenance this means that the company needs to increase number of employees in
the IT department. In addition, the department will need a software engineer who will lead the
app maintenance team. Also the company needs to form partnership with Google Company; this
will assists in fusing the app with other Google apps.
Value proposition and other benefits
First, with the one globe app will lead to effective and direct communication. These
direct communication will automatically bring value to the organization. Second, the app will
assists in increasing the company recognition; this will result to building customer loyalty. Also,
as the company website creates awareness, the app will make sale. When potential customers

want to know more about the company they will definitely look for it in the play store as apps
are quicker, more interactive and very easier to navigate as compared to websites. Third, an app
is a great tool for customer engagement; the app will create customer to business communication
this in turn will assists the company to stand out in crowd. Lastly, the application will build an
improved visibility.
Project management and control
To manage this project we will first define the project goals and objectives. Second we
will clearly define tasks; this will create awareness on project killers. Third, as team will create a
timeline for each tasks. To ensure that the project is on track we will schedule regular checks for
the project which will be made on daily basis. As a team we will make use of Trello software;
this will assists in creating a collaborative board. In addition, the project team will make use of
podio which assists in storing files it will assists in sharing of files via dropbox and Google drive.
Infrastructure requirements
App development is a process by which a mobile app is developed for mobile devices. To
come up with a mobile application it requires infrastructural support which depends on user
requirements. To start with this is a hybrid app, these means that the application with be used in
both Apple and on android phones stores. This means that one of the requirement is HTML5 for
interface with the native wrapper. The process will start with an information architecture; this is
the process of deciding what functionality and data needs which will be presented within one
application. It will also entail deciding how application data will be organized. The tools which
will be used here are pencil and paper, and white boards.

The infrastructure required to develop this application is the MEAP. This will be used
both as a management tool and a development platform. The tool is also referred to as mobile
application platform which is an all-inclusive group of products and services which allow mobile
application products to be developed. The reason as to why this paper goes for this platform is
because handles the problem of incompatibility as it is able to manage different devices such as
mobile devices, networks, and user groups. In addition, MEAP is beneficial since their approach
is both long-term and inclusive. With MEAP infrastructure it means that the software developers
are able to develop the given mobile app at one time. In addition, with the mobile app the
software developers are able to deploy the app in various devices which include notebooks,
smartphones, tablets, and ruggedized handheld devices. The MEAP infrastructure consists of
both mobile middleware server and client application. The client application components is
specifically used to connect to the server. The middleware server component is specifically used
to manager data via cross platform support, communications, security, and system integration.
Some of the features and capabilities of this infrastructure is that it can support more than one
mobile device without having to separate the different sets of code. Second the infrastructure has
the ability of running in the cloud and enhancing the existing business platforms by making them
accessible to other users anywhere and at any time. In addition, it is able to integrate with
multiple server data sources thus able to leverage on tools and development which one already
knows and is an expertise. Also MEAP uses techniques which do not require writing code to
extend them.
Software design, development methodologies
Development speed of mobile application has become a key factor in the current industry.
This means it is very important to implement the best practices so as to continually improve

mobile application performance. It is very important to note that there are factors in place which
needs to be considered before making decision on the best methodology to employ. These are
the idea of the application, the design, development, execution, and testing. If one of these
factors is disrupted, the software engineer is definitely in trouble. For global app, the
methodology to be employed is agile methodology. This is the most effective approaches for the
development of a mobile app. One of the major reason this approach is preferred it is because it
will ensure proper channel of communication that helps both the app developer and the client.
There are twelve principles of agile methodology which are; customer satisfaction by
early and continuous deliver of valuable mobile application. Second, is that the methodology
welcomes any changing requirements even in late development. Third, the methodology works
by cooperating well between the application developers and the business people. Forth, there is a
face to face c0onversation between the mobile application developers. In addition, there is
continuous attention to technical excellence and good design. Usually, software developers
works on how to be effective and adjust accordingly to adjust to the changing requirement.
Lastly, the methodology works by employing simplicity which is the art of maximizing the
amount of work done.
Agile methodology uses an iterative development as a base. As shown by the figure below, the
methodology uses a continuous customer feedback to successfully deliver the mobile application

It is also important to note that agile methodology is suitable for mobile application as it
follows a combination of incremental and iterative approach where the entire process of software
development lifecycle is broken down into small interactions; this assists the mobile application
developers to adapt quickly to the process of development. Second it minimizes the overall risk,
and also gives importance to organization employees to offer their feedback. Also agile
development methodology believes in the art of self-organizing teams and what software
engineers refers to as customer collaboration. In addition, with agile methodology, it will offer
numerous cycles of testing and quality assurance thus increasing reliability(Fr. Conceicao
Rodrigues, 2016, p. 74).
Agile methodology in this case will be based on Software and System Process
Engineering Meta and eXtreme programming. This will be integrated with Eclipse Framework.
The methodology will have four distinct phases which are preparation phase; this assigns roles
and responsibilities to the development team. Then there is the embodiment phase which will
specifically focus on understanding user expectations i.e. all the user requirements for the mobile
