electronic markets. The information system plays a crucial role in the organization for managing
the business in an effective manner. This report includes the analysis of information systems and
various types of an information systems are discussed. It is analyzed that enterprise resource
planning plays a vital role in managing and controlling the organization. The benefits of the ERP
systems are included which helps in enhancing the collecting of the information and
disseminating the capabilities. For effective management, the implementation of information
systems is included for managing the data and information. Information systems are important
for communication within the organization which helps the management in using the information
and sharing the details. It helps the organization in gaining competitive advantages which help to
offer the best services to customers (Chofreh, et al., 2018).
In the organization, information systems are implemented in all the business functions like
marketing and sales, production, HR, finance and research and development. The information
system includes the components which are networks, hardware, software, human resources, and
database. The information system helps in combining the technologies, procedures, and people

Types of information systems
The information system helps in supporting the operations, sharing knowledge and managing the
organization. It includes the executive information system(EIS), management information
system(MIS), transaction processing system(TPS), and decision support system(DSS).

It includes the three organizational level which is strategic, tactical and operational levels. The
strategic level includes the executive information system, tactical level includes the decision
support system and the management information system and operational level includes the
transaction processing system (Chaffey and White, 2010).
The transaction processing system is also known as the data processing system as it helps the
business in dealing with the day-to-day transactions which include the system for keeping the
accuracy in accounting, preparing invoices, controlling stock and Data entry. TPS are considered
tools that are used by the organization at the operational level for producing a large amount of
information to contribute to running the business (Taniguchi and Onosato, 2017). It is used for
keeping the record that is required for conducting the business. It helps the business in sales
order entry, payrolls, etc. It supports the business in producing the reports.
Management information system
MIS includes the system which helps in converting the data and information of internal and
external sources into effective information. MIS is developed for supporting planning,
controlling and decision-making functions. Management Information System (MIS) provides a
summary of management routines for the basic operations of the organization. Basic services are
organized by the organization's TPS records, MIS integration sales, production, and other data.
MIS provides general information to managers and decision-makers. The main purpose of
implementing MIS in an organization is for improving the efficiency of operations. MIS can
support marketing, production, finance, etc. Management information system helps in providing
the information for pre-specified reports as well as displaying the support of decision making. It
is a type of information that helps in taking the internal data for summarizing useful information
for making the effective use of the activities and supporting management (Leandro, et al., 2017).
Executive information system(EIS)
The implementation information system (EIS) is also known as the implementation support
system. The organization's senior manager uses EIS. Therefore, it must be easy for using so that
executives can use it without any help. EIS can analyze trends, report anomalies, and have
traceability. The results are usually presented graphically to suit the information needs of the
supervisor. It provides the essential information from the internal and external sources for

making the process easy. EIS is designed for generating information for presenting the
operations for satisfying the management (Laudon and Laudon, 2015).
Decision support system
Decision Support System (DSS) provides the services to manage the organization. Decision
support(DSS) systems includes the tools for comprehensive data which helps in supporting as
well as assisting in all features of decision-making on specific issues. DSS includes the data from
external sources like current stock prices for enhacing decision-making capabilities (Laudon and
Laudon, 2015). DSS will help you make the right decision process and will not make any
decisions. It helps the managers at the organizational level for making the process of decisions
making which helps the managers in modeling, formulating, calculating and comparing as well
as selecting the best options. It is effectively designed for helping the management to handle the
uncertainty situations for the best possible decisions.
Enterprise resource planning system
An Enterprise resource planning(ERP) information system helps in integrating the planning,
human resources, inventory, sales, and marketing. It is a process of management that includes
software for enabling the organization for using the system for integrating the control of the
business for automating the process. ERP includes the process for managing and integrating the
important parts of the business.
An enterprise resource planning (ERP) system can works as the business system which includes
an integrated set of integrated packages. Once the system is implemented successfully, it is used
for managing and integrating all functions of business in the company. These collections often

customers. It helps te organization in maintaining the updated information and facilitating in

providing real-time information for the data. It helps in representing the data of customers
accurately and updating data. ERP system helps in providing high security by managing the
processes of the organization like ordering stock, shipping, sending and receiving the stock
(Reddy, et al., 2019).
It helps the organization in providing better insights by eliminating the silos and help in gaining
the truth. ERP system implementation in Tesco, they had upgraded the services by delivering the
services to customers for ordering online. They had moved to e-commerce for making it easier
for customers (Doom, 2010).
The main goal of any ERP is for integrating all the functions of the enterprise into a unified
platform. Many businesses remain in enviable locations because their data is stored in multiple
locations and systems. Reducing costs and saves the money- It is done in the organization for
reducing the administrating and operational costs with the help of automation of the services
(Umble, et al., 2013).

system helps in maintaining the real-time visibility for making the wider view for the supply
chain and reduces the planning cycles and makes the product effective. In Tesco, it helps in
tracing the services by allocating and detecting the inventory and stock which are available. It

Tesco for managing and tracking the information of goods as well as services. It is beneficial for
