Introduction:
The enterprise system or the enterprise resource planning can be considered as cross
functional information system which is important for providing coordination within the
organization and it helps to integrates the key business processes and it also help in the resource
planning of the organization [2]. Due to this fact enterprise systems plays an important role in
within the organizations. Thus, proper development of the enterprise systems is crucial within
the organization.
In the aspect of developing the enterprise systems, in this report an article related with
this developing the enterprise system will be critiqued. Here, the main aim of critique the paper
is analysing the paper briefly and preparing a short summary of the paper. In this aspect the
selected paper which will be critiqued is the “Enterprise Systems Implementation Framework: an
organisational perspective” and the author of this paper is Rajesri Govindaraju.
Critique on the Selected Paper:
In this article the main intention of the author is describing the implementation
framework of the enterprise systems within an organizational perspective. Here, the author has
mainly described implementation of the enterprise systems in various of companies [1]. As per
the author various of organizations and businesses has tried to implement the enterprise systems
in their organization but few of them was able to implement it successfully in the organization.
As there are a large number if failure cases in the implementation of the enterprise system in the
organization the authors has taken the step of developing a proper framework which will be
helping to understand how to manage the overall processes of the implementation so that the
enterprise system can be implemented in the organization successfully [1]. This report has also

change and information system implementation. In this way a conceptual framework is being
developed. The developed conceptual framework is able to address both of the particular stage
after the project and project stage regarding implementation of the enterprise system. This
framework has also identified some essential issues within that was present in those stages. The
main issues which has been highlighted in this case are the knowledge development issues,
system alignment issues and change mobilisation issues. All of these issues has been highlighted
in the project stage while optimization of the system and institutionalisation are very much
important within the post project stage.
In this case for performing the research the author has surveyed others of researches that
has been done in the same region. Author has utilized the results from the previous researchers
for performing the research so that the conceptual framework can be developed. Thus, it has
been assessed that the author has utilized literature type of survey methodology for performing
the research [1]. The author has collected secondary type of data and has analysed these data.
Depending on that data the author has created the conceptual framework for the enterprise

important stages within the project stage. These three stages are the system adoption, change
mobilisation and knowledge development. The system adaption stage is the mutual adaption of
the organizations, business process and technology which is one of the main issues within all the
various projects which are enabled by IT. For the enterprise system projects, when any type of
procedure of business changes will be properly taking place the formal structure comprises of the
contents of the work, task of the work, performance measures and work environment need to be
arranged in a different way. In this aspect the change mobilisation is mainly utilised for referring
to the efforts which mainly aims to gain the commitment of the employees and the support of the
stakeholders who are involved within it. As per the findings, participation of the users is also
very much vital as the users have some detailed knowledge and will have the firsthand
experience of the weaknesses and the strengths of the ongoing process [1]. The next step is the
knowledge development. From the findings it has been assessed that implementation of the
enterprise system can be considered as transfer of knowledge from the source organization to the
destination organization. It actually implies that, the organization which is implementing the
enterprise system must develop in-house knowledge that is necessary for using the system,

system fails is the deficiency of fit among the estimated way of functioning and prevailing of the
organizational standards and rules. From the findings it has been also assessed that optimization
of the system is also very much important for continuously meeting the demand of the business
processes. It has been also determined that there are mainly three types of software optimization
which are the evolution, improvements and software mastery.

assessed that the effectiveness of the enterprise system implementation can be analysed in two
levels which are the short term implementation effectiveness and long term implementation
effectiveness.

From the above discussion it can be concluded that enterprise system implementation is
one of the critical task which is performed by the organization. Here it has been assessed that
while the organization initiates this type of implementation plan, it often becomes a failure. Thus
it is important to create a proper framework for the implementation of the enterprise systems
within organizations. In this aspect a particular paper from the domain of developing enterprise
system has been selected and evaluated. First in this paper a brief outline of the selected paper
has been elaborated. In the following section research method of the paper has been discussed
and the finding from the research has been assessed. Also, the conclusion of the article has been
evaluated in this report.
