Deferral Statement
I originally had a deferral for this project which meant it was due late
March, which had been accepted. This deferral was due during lockdown,
as we was going through a pandemic.
I had requested a deferral again, due to having issues with logging in,
uploading the project, as well as personal issues and as it was the start of
lockdown, the university hadn’t got the systems in place at that time to
respond or get it sorted.
I had requested a deferral on time.
The deferral I had requested, is the one where the project and everything
stays as the original one which had been first handed out. But, to be
completed later, which registry had confirmed and sorted for myself.

The idea of creating A Helping Hand came to fruition during the coronavirus
pandemic.
A number of old people were observed suffering from ignorance of their near
ones who did not focused on their needs and requirements. Mostly all stores
and supermarkets had been sold out of toilet roll, tissues, hand wash, hand
sanitizer and many stocked food items. People in the United Kingdom, had
started to hoard and collect all these items. If they were to come back into
stock, they would instantly be sold out, as customers rampaged across all
shops and stores to purchase every item.
Many times, I had been shopping through Tesco’s for essentials and had seen
elderly customers standing in long empty aisles, with no food or household
essentials in sight for them to purchase.
I kept thinking, who could they turn to? Where can they go? What can they do?
This is how the idea of A Helping Hand emerged from.
The service will be available from the 3rd August 2020, in Coventry.
Within the following weeks, we expect to be up and running across most cities
in the United Kingdom.
The service that we offer is similar to how a carer or social worker would be,
but we shall offer more attention and caring. Morning, day, or night, our

Whether an elderly person needs help with cooking breakfast, getting changed
or to just pop down to their local shop, A Helping Hand plans to be there for
them every step of the way, to make their life a little easier.
Our service will be available via app store on both android and IOS.
We offer a 24/7 customer service line, so that we may offer customers with
flexibility to contact us whenever they are in need.
In terms of price, we offer a 1-month trial period free off charge. Once the trial
period has expired customers can purchase our service between £30 to £60
per month, depending on the membership they purchase, the latter offering
more services, such as 24/7 call outs and helpline. (Boutillier, S. and Uzunidis, D.

The businesses will carry on as a limited liability company structure in which
Mr Mohammed Swaib will work as both owner and manager. This will be cost
effective and save the business money, rather than having to spend money on
advertisement, recruitment and then paying a manager. Secondly, we have the
investor Mr John Southerland, who will be investing funds into the company.

Mr Southerland’s funds will help start up the business and to pay for all
supplies, equipment, services, research, advertisement, taxes, and wages.
All recruitment shall be covered by Mr Mohammed Swaib as he will be

are satisfied with their task and compensation that they are paid for it.
The company shall hire their personal accountant, who shall keep all the
businesses expenses, and incomings up to date. Such as, wages, taxes,

The business will legally be registered with the government and they shall be
aware of all expenses and on-goings.

However our business model offers services which customers require and
the quality of service provided by our care takers will be better as they are well

The building we are renting is based just on the outskirts of the city centre. This
means we will increase the likeliness of large amounts of people who may walk past
the store and be interested in the services we offer. As we are based in the city
centre, we are central to everyone within the city, which means we are more easily
accessible to customers.
The building is very spacious which allows employees to keep a safe distance from
each other while being at work during the pandemic.
There is also a large car park outside and on-site cafeteria, with many shops close
by in town.
As a business we felt it was best to rent the building for the first couple of years.
From there, we can calculate our finances and expenses. This will then allow us to
calculate if we can afford to purchase a bigger building as we grow both internally
and externally.
As there is the pandemic, which is currently ongoing, we do have employees who
will be working from home as they fall into the vulnerable employees’ category.
These could include employees who are pregnant, asthmatic, diabetic, have young
or elderly family members at home or have any family members with those stated
above, then they would most likely stay and work from home. This is to ensure both
their and their family’s safety during this difficult time.

a business we will have many expenses, from lighting to heating, gas, electricity,
