INTRODUCTION
Leadership is primarily the process of influencing decisions and opinions of others for
attainment of specific goals. The main aim of this study is to personally reflect presence or
absence of certain leadership skills and styles within myself by going through series of
questionnaire and tests (Fritsch and Wyrwich, 2017). This report gives an overview of leadership
approaches and skills as well as attributes of effective leader.
MAIN BODY
General measure of enterprise tendency
Enterprise tendency is defined as to tendency that rely over start up and managing the
projects effectively in which highly enterprise individuals innovate their approach. In addition to
this, enterprise may be expressed by starting the own business and operate the business activities
as an intrapreneur within an organization or setting up community ventures. In this, this has been
identified that the overall GET 2 result scores 57% and this have strength within some of the

education and training in assisting in helping individuals to develop their potential. It is defined

the medium score defines that enterprising person is highly motivated, energetic and has capacity
for hard work. In addition to this, it is the tendency that are busy, driven, dynamic and highly

of enterprise tendency, highly enterprising person has following qualities such as-:

Such individual have strong need for achievement.
Leadership approaches and entrepreneurship
Leadership is basically the way through which an individual is able to influence the
thoughts and opinion of other people. Leadership plays an important role within
entrepreneurship and thus helps in the development of effective leaders. Entrepreneurship is
predominately the process for running and launching one’s own business ( Wiklund, Wright and
Zahra, 2019.). There are various styles of leadership and these styles have an important role to
play within entrepreneurship and an entrepreneur. The style which a leader adopts explains
whether the individual is an effective or ineffective leader. There are mainly four types of
leadership styles which help in running the efficient business namely democratic style, autocratic
style, paternalistic and Lassie-Faire style. The adoption of the particular style depends in the
situation of condition. I conducted a leadership questionnaire of myself in order to know that in
which category of style I fall and what type of leader I am (Fritsch and Wyrwich, 2017). The
numbers from 1 to 5 were assigned to each of the question which forms the basis of rating scale.
The total score which I scored under three different leadership styles were 17 in authoritarian
leadership, 19 in democratic style and 13 in Laissez-Faire leadership. The maximum score which
I scored was 19 under democratic leadership. Thus, this questionnaire revealed that most of the
qualities within me are of democratic leader, then autocratic leader and least of Laissez-Faire
leadership. The second highest score I scored under authoritarian leaders which say that I also

have some qualities of autocratic leaders. This quality of authoritarian leader within me is based
on responses which I provided. Like for example in the statement that leader should provide its
subordinates freedom for solving problems, I marked 2 which means disagree. I think that
leaders should exercise strict control over their employees and maintain discipline among them
to avoid their distraction from work. Another example like in the other statement which was
Effective leaders provide orders to the employees, I marked 4 which correspond to agree. I think
that leaders should give strict orders to their employees for helping them to remain compliant to
the rules and regulations. Thus, these few statements in the questionnaire shows that I am an
authoritarian leader where by having the strict control over the employees and controlling them
to great extent in order to make effective-decision and preventing the distraction of employees
from their goals (Hills and Morris, 2018).
The highest score in democratic leadership says that most of the qualities within me are
of a democratic leader. Like in the statement stating employees need to be part of the decision-
making process, I marked 5 which correspond to strongly agree. Thus, I think that employees are
the assets of company and hence they should be involved in the various decisions of
organizations. In another statement addressing in complex situations, leaders should allow
subordinates to solve their problems on their own, I marked which means strongly disagree.
Therefore, instead of leaving on their situation leaders should help their employees in solving
their problem by proving the right guidance and coaching not only in professional life but also in
the personal life (Hills and Morris, 2018).
Thus, these few statements show that I am a democratic leaders and believes in taking
subordinates together at each and every level.
Skills & attributes of leadership
Effective leaders have various skills and attributes which make them an ideal entity in the
eyes of other people whether subordinates or top management. Effective leader is the one who
are highly focused towards developing other along with itself and helps in growth of other
people in addition to itself. For becoming the effective leader, a person should have various
qualities, skills and traits. These skills and traits is the major determining factor of efficient and
inefficient leader. Some of the traits which leaders should have are effective communication
skills, honesty and integrity, efficient decision-making, active listening and feedback etc
(Boudreaux, Nikolaev and Holcombe, 2018). I conducted a self-assessment questionnaire of

leadership in order to recognize that what qualities of leaders I have and where I lack behind. In
this questionnaire, I scored total of 219 score. The guideline specified the following criteria
175 or above- on way to effective leader
125 to 174- getting close
124 or below- needs improvement
Thus as I scored 219 thus this shows that I am on the right track of becoming the
effective leader. This test helped me to analyze my strengths as well as opportunities for growth
based on the responses which I gave in this questionnaire. My biggest strength is that I am able
to effectively communicate with each other. For example- while working on the project, I
effectively interacted with my team members regarding its aspects like project initiation etc
(Zahra, Neubaum and Hayton, 2016). Another major strength is that I am hones and fair and thus
remain transparent to my colleagues and subordinates regarding my work. For example- before
commencing the new project in my organization, I provided each and every detail to my team
members as what the project is about, its cons its pros, work load due to the project etc and thus
shows a high level of transparency by clearly laying down its mission and objectives. My
another strength is that I take input from the employees while making decisions. Like for
increasing the sales of new product in my organization, I solicited the opinion of all employees
and then took the decision.
This questionnaire showed me that I am somewhat weak in providing on-job-training to
new employees as in this statement, I rated myself 3 points which corresponds to true. Thus, for
improving this weakness I have the opportunity to increase my training skills by frequently
taking training from seniors as how to train others (Hoppe, 2016).
Another area in which I need improvement is problem solving. In the statement stating I
criticize constructively and address problems, I rated myself only 3 points that is true as I am
little weak in problem solving. Therefore, I have the opportunity to develop my problem-solving
skills by applying brainstorming and analyzing each and every situation in-depth. Besides this, I
can list out all the possible solution to a problem on a sheet and then trigger the potential solution
by studying every solution in deep to analyze its effectiveness (Sutter, Bruton and Chen, 2019).
