ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
As per Healthy People 2020 there are 6 environmental factors found external to health
which can be impacting over the health or life expectancy or healthy living of a person. The
factors are outdoor air quality, toxic substances and hazardous wastes, infrastructure and
surveillances, global environmental health, homes and communities and surface and ground
water quality. As per WHO environmental interactions affect quality of life, health disparities
and years of healthy life lived by the person (World Health Organization, 2020). Based on this
factor it can be found that 23 per cent global overall death and 26 per cent deaths of children less
than 5 years. On this context, it can be found those natural and technological disasters, climate
change, the built environmental hazards, occupational hazards and exposure to hazardous
substances in the air, water, soil, and food are the factors that affect the health of the people
drastically. All these factors can be found as the affective aspects of the environment that
impacts over the health. Hence, it can be stated that the process of health disparity development
is dependent on all these factors as well as other factors such as nanotechnology, exposure to
unknown hazards, blood lead levels and other factors (Healthypeople.gov, 2020).
