brand portfolio. One of the strengths that are underlined is its high brand awareness in the
market. It is in market for several years so it is well known amongst the consumers.

Sometimes, it has a problem regarding cash flow. There is a lack of financial planning in the
cash flow. These can result in certain circumstances where the company is not having enough
cash flow as needed to an unnecessary unplanned borrowing (Leary, Bell and Thomson
2017). Greggs mostly focused on the local workers and a lesser amount of workers is
available from the other racial background. Therefore, it is difficult for the employees from
different racial backgrounds so that to adjust to the workplace that results in loss of talent.
The company much focused on investing in marketing but the performance appraisal is not
done systematically. The company does not take the initiative for often appraise for their
performance (Phadermrod, Crowder and Wills 2019). This leads to lesser work morale and a
lack of promotion opportunities for the employees. Greggs does not tend to spend much in its
research and development also having the new technology as compared to its competitors. In

the market.

is an era of globalization and Greggs has a great opportunity to expand its business to other
countries.
Threats: The new technology developed by competitors can be a threat that can
influence the business in the future. There can be seen an intense competition in the market
that can be a pressure for its profitability and entire sales. In the last few years, there is a
number of new players that have entered the market and they are gaining market share. The
increasing number of entrants can be a threat to the company to lose its existing customers.
The taste and preference of the customers are changing every day (Mbiriri 2018). Therefore,
this is a pressure upon the company to meet the needs of the customers.
Conclusion and Recommendation
The company is having a good financial position and well known amongst the local
public. However, there is the pressure of the new entrant as well as the customer’s
preferences. The Strength-Opportunity strategy, as per the swot analysis, can recommend the
company to increase its marketing so that it can attract more customers. It can use its
presence on social media for marketing as well as can attracts new customers through its
website. The Weakness-Opportunity strategy can recommend increasing the morale of its
employees through increasing payrolls, incentives and different work benefits. The Strength-
Threat strategy can recommend the company to use its innovative teams to find beneficial
alternatives and to invest in intellectual property rights that can help in competing in the
market. The swot analysis Weakness-Threat strategy can recommend to the company that
