2WRITING ASSIGNMENT
The first course that has been chosen here is the ENVS203: ENVIRONMENTAL ETHICS,
JUSTICE, AND WORLDVIEWS
This is mainly about teaching the students the role of ethics in the world. This indeed is a
very good course as it teaches the students the very basic and important ways of living their lives
in the real world. This course will prescribe such course works and lessons that will teach the
students how to understand and implement the environmental ethics. The students in the class
will also be taught about their groups and the social surroundings in which they mix. This will
help them to know that their peers and their social surroundings influence their thoughts a great
deal. The first unit will teach them how can they understand ethics and realize what a good
ethical behavior is (Thompson, 2017). The second unit will teach students the ethics and the
worldviews. In other words, the students will be taught about the natural resources of earth and
the way ethics comes. Unit 3 will teach students regarding the long historical concept of US and
how many famous people have helped in forming the ethics and sharing the moral attitude in the
right direction. The 4th will teach about the baseless biases that often exist in various corners of
the world and can make people fall in some unethical decisions. The final and 5th unit will talk
about the laws pertaining to the same. This course is free and students can study it without any
additional cost. This indeed is very good as learning ethics is priceless and students must be
allowed to study this irrespective of any cost. I would really very good if ever I got the chance of
teaching this course to students
I will try to teach the students about ethics from practical life lessons rather than the
theoretical staffs alone. I will try to give them different kinds of situations and make them take
on the kinds of decisions that they would take.

The advantages of MOOCs are that it is a modern concept and a top quality kind of
education. It is becoming very popular among students. Many of the courses are also available at
free of cost and I is also very flexible in nature.
The disadvantage is that MOOCs are not affiliated and many of the students may feel that the
entire course is very easy and not up to the mark like the rest of the university.
The second course that has been selected is the SOC101: INTRODUCTION TO
SOCIOLOGY
This is indeed a very important course to pursue. This will help the students to know
about the society that they are living in. They will also be able to know about the evils existing in
the society and what are their impacts. The first unit is the basic introduction about what
sociology is and how it slowly developed into such a wide area of research. The students will be
taught about the important sociologists as well (Downes, Rock & McLaughlin, 2016). The
second unit will slowly reach the students regarding the different aspects of the phenomena that
are existing in the society as the social interaction, media and technology, social control and
other such aspects. Students will be taught to think on all the social aspects from their own
viewpoints and from their perspectives. The third unit will teach students about a very important
sociological concept that is inequality. They have to learn about the social evils and the ways of
combating it. They will be able to have an open and bias less view towards the aspects like class,
creed, and gender (Giddens et al., 2016). The fourth unit will introduce the students with some of
the social institution like marriage, family and how the power structure is divided among them
They will learn about the political rules and the government rules as well. The 5th unit will teach

them the issues surrounding areas like mental and physical health, feminism and other such
aspects (Burrell & Morgan, 2017).
. As a teacher, I will like to first explain all these contexts and ask them to follow what
are the current incidents taking place around them. I will ask them to critically analyze each
incident taking place around them and not blindly follow the social norms.
The MOOCs will be advantageous to teach all these students without demanding any special
degree or specialization from them. Anyone can have a basic degree and learn these courses.
However, the students may feel ignored as there is lack of interaction with the professors. So the
professors must try to develop the platform and give time individually to all students or divide
the sessions into smaller subgroups (Conole, 2016).
