Overview of the environmental issue:
Leeds Bradford Airport is a public that is located at Yeadon, West Yorkshire England. The
Expansion of this airport significantly impacts the environment as operations of airlines
includes several activities which majorly influences the environmental issues.
As LBA is going under expansion process thus, it will majorly impact the population, air
quality, water quality as well as the quality of public transport.

Air Quality Issue
The operations of LBA may significantly impact the environment by affecting the Air
quality of Yeadon. As it may generate volatile compounds like carbon monoxide (CO),
Lead Sulphur oxide (Sox), Nox as well as HAPs.
The above mentioned volatile compounds may significantly pollute the air quality and harm
health condition of people.

Noise Issue
The impact of the Noise due to the operations of LBA may significantly impact the
surrounding and the people as well. However, LBA has taken an initiative towards reducing
the impact of noise on people.
Noise has mostly impacted the living quality of people which has majorly impacted the
health condition of the people.

Water Quality Issue
Due to the expansion of Airport the following issues has been raised-
 Release of impurities to adjacent water bodies.
 Increases the percentage of melting compound in water.
 The volatile compounds influences the impurities of water.

Landscape issues:
Extension of the airport will significantly impact on the landscape near by LBA as due to
the operations of the airport the trees, wind break as well as other natural compounds will
be destroyed which will majorly impact the environment of the Yeadon.
