Reflective Journal 3: Environmental Impacts and Responsibility

REFLECTION
The article named “Organizing in the Anthropocene” is written by four people Christopher
Wright (The university of Sydney, Australia), Daniel Nyberg (The university of Newcastle,
Australia), Lauren Rickards (RMIT university, Australia) and James Freund (Lancaster
university, UK). These are highly qualified experts which has shared their point of view on
different aspects of Anthropocene. These experts have discussed how human civilisation impact
natural environment in this article.
The main purpose of this article is to inform people about how humans are continuously
changing natural environment. There are various activities of humans are influencing earth in
both ways positively and negatively. The main of this article is to stop people for taking such
attempts which are harmful for nature, animals and human civilisation.
According to my knowledge, this article just shows impact of human civilisation this earth. I
have learnt in this article that, from establishment of human civilisation to date people are
continuously making some changes in entire atmosphere. They are taking various resources from
earth to fulfil their basic needs (Almeida and Hoyer, 2019). On the basis of article, a person is
crossed each limit to fulfil its prime and core needs. I’m really surprised when I have deep study
innovation and technology. Both are creations of humans, because people always try to create
such things which make satisfied them in daily life. Currently each person has some desires and
needs, so it ready to pay any cost for fulfilling those desires.
I think we humans need to stop our such attempts or activities which negatively impact our earth,
because now we are breaking our limits. Innovation is good thing, but people should follow
some ethics as well. Reason is, many times people harms natural environment to innovate some
new things. My knowledge says, humans not only have right to use all precious resources of
earth, because animals also has equal right to use all resources which are currently available on
earth.
In this article, I have learnt that many organisations are currently working on controlling
humans’ actions. Protect environment from unethical human actions is the main objective of
these organisations. Currently existing technology is very advance which humans were
developed personal relaxation. But in some cases, this advance technology is negatively
influencing our environment. Many manufacturing companies currently misusing resources of
earth, so humans will need to face many challenges in the future. Nowadays, many countries
have imposed vary strict rules on their people to stop the misuse of precious resources. Currently
climate changing is a very big issue in earth. In this case, humans are only responsible behind
this issue.

I have learnt from this article that; all humans need to come together for putting earth on
progressive path. Each person should take responsibility to save natural resources for new or
upcoming generation. Because it is necessary to always makes a happy and healthy environment
on this earth. I know it is some difficult for people, but this step will covert this highly polluted
place into liveable place.
