and better positioning of the business.

cannot be changed. But, the key drawback of this is that it does not recognizes flexibility in the
investment decisions which is actually done by ROA. In addition to this, NPV estimates the
creation of the wealth by converting the future cash flows in the present value. It also makes use
of the cash flows instead of net earnings and is helpful in undertaking decisions when there are
multiple projects from which is to be selected. Along with that, accounts for the various types of
risks such as the business risk, financial risk and the operating risk. This results into getting the
accurate and more reliable profitability associated with the investment proposal. Thus, it is
advisable to managers to use NPV over ROA because of the realistic outcome it gives.
