The climate change is a global issue and is being addressed by a number of international
authoritative bodies. However, there is need for micro level strategies as well to combat the
situation. Involving the local government in understanding the micro situations that impact the
climate change is significant in developing strategies to mitigate the situation. In the article
written by MacCallum et al (2014), the authors in their article talk about the gap in the discussion
where of the relevancy of the level of interest and the ways in which each of these impact differ
across social groups and communities, and the important implications of this fact for social
justice. The two strategies that the Authors discuss in the article are: providing formal and
informal platforms for the people so that their voices can be heard and that their complaints and
grievances can be acknowledged. As cultural differences have a various interest in this condition

culture will help in providing better solutions to the issues of climate change. Another strategy

carbon emission.

The lesson that has been the fundament of the discussion is the change in the perspectives
of the policy makers regarding the role a community plays in managing the natural resources.
The insights of the community regarding the resource and the efficient allocation have been
acknowledged. This has helped the communities in providing the policy makers with solution to

community. This in turn has provided the community members with the motivation of
voluntarily participate in the NRM process. One of the major aims of the CBNRM is to ensure
that the communities voluntarily participate in a plan and organisation which is used to

The importance of developing a principle of subsidiary in the process of formulating a
new CBNRM governance arrangements or evaluating the ones which already exist. This
principle is driven to sustain the self-determination of the people by providing rights and
responsibilities to the lowest level so that the exercise of the decisions can be implemented
effectively. In this process the high level of governance is dependent on the lower level so that
there is parity and understanding in the process of operation of the organisation. Thus it is learnt
that the focus of such bodies are not only on resource management but is also on the
development of the community at large, furthermore establish local self government and the
creation of local institutions for the management of common property resources.
The organisation CBNRM is also considered to be one of the cost efficient options for
development of the rural region as it contributes to the social capital beyond NRMs. This is also

more evident for areas where other institutions have failed to perform. The authors in the article
have provided with examples that supports the lesson conclusion that has been derived.
Another lesson that is discussed by the authors is the fact that they have realized that all
CBNRM have its own features, as each community is unique on its own terms. Hence, there
cannot be a universal regulation for all the CBNRMs. The level of interest of the community can
differ, on the other hand the needs and requirements of each of the community depend on the
circumstances and the issues that the particular community is facing. Hence it is important for
the authorities to understand that each of the CBNRMs require their customized regulations and
support in order to perform and fulfill their agenda.

More and more research and communication of the adverse effect the society has on the
planet is being highlighted in order to make people responsible for their actions. Governments
all around the world have their agendas and regulations regarding the change in the climate that
has been the major concern. Some of the impact that Australia is facing due to the change in the

disasters, ocean warming and acidifying are some of the impacts. Climate change has not only

emission of greenhouse gas as well as stabilizing the concentration of the gases in the
atmosphere. This should be carried out at a level that would stop hazardous anthropogenic
interfering with the elements in the climate. Some of the current negotiations of the convention
have been formed in the Paris Agreement 2015, 196 nations signed the agreement.
 Keeping the temperatures below 2.0 C and strive to achieve 1.5 C

agreement.
