Develop IoT Application
The Internet of Things (IoT) is an ecosystem of electronically interconnected physical
items that can be accessed online. IoT items have their own unique IP addresses and are
reachable via their IP addresses, so the thing may be a car with built-in sensors. IoT is useful in
many industries, including agricultural. Smart Cities, Smart Environment, Smart Water, Smart
Metering, Security and Emergency, Industrial Control, Smart Agriculture, Home Automation, e-
Health, etc. are only a few examples of IoT applications.
This project was carried out using an Arduino board. An open-source electronics
platform called Arduino is built on simple hardware and software. To keep track of temperature
fluctuations, we used a dht11 Temperature and Humidity Sensor. A 8-bit microprocessor was
incorporated with the dht11. The volumetric water content of the soil was then measured using a
soil moisture sensor. A Wi-Fi module that enables access to a Wi-Fi network is the ESP8266
ESP-01 that we used. To store the in-progress data, we utilized the ThingSpeak cloud. An IoT is
ThingSpeak.
A cloud platform service that enables live data stream analysis. The required elements will be
demonstrated as follows.
DHT 11 Temperature & Humidity Sensor
Breadboard
Jumper Wires
Arduino Uno
Soil Moisture Sensor
ESP 8266
By utilizing this monitoring system, we can anticipate an improvement in productivity and
the prevention of a number of issues. We first created an IoT device that was capable of
collecting data from soil moisture sensors and dht11. then automatically uploads the sensor data
to the cloud. Then, using an Android application we had designed, we could track the
development of our monitoring system in real time.

Specific problem to solve using IOT
The world's population is aging, placing significant pressure on the healthcare sector and
necessitating the development of more independent, practical, and affordable care services for
the elderly. Our increasingly digital population will benefit from IoT by living at home longer,
safer, and healthier. In a few years, it will be commonplace to have personalized digital assistants
aiding us in our daily lives and sensor-enabled devices monitoring and alerting authorities to our
health issues, dietary habits, and mobility patterns. IoT technology adoption on a large scale can
help with dealing with global warming, which is now a major concern for our planet. Significant
numbers of people die as a result of rising sea levels, more frequent floods, and altered weather
patterns. Real-time and more precise environment monitoring supported by data's predictive
power is required to avoid that. That is what the next-generation IoT will provide when paired
with AI and advanced analytics. Growing cities present significant difficulties for public
transportation systems and higher pollution levels. Wirelessly connected, sensor-enabled devices
can help predict human mobility patterns, air pollution levels, and the best modes of
transportation to use. Future public transportation networks will become more flexible and
specialized Mobility-as-a-Service models thanks to IoT. That will aid local officials in lowering
gas emissions and improving the convenience of citizens' transportation options.
