1. Growth in population has both a positive and adverse impacts on natural
resources. A lot more land is utilized for agricultural activities and living,
activities which both result in drastic changes to the environment. Maintaining the
wellbeing of the huge population requires more resources, increasing pressure on
existing resources. These results in the destruction of many natural habitats.
Human interaction with natural resources can be grouped into two distinct
classes; 1. Use of natural resources. 2. Pollution of natural resources. Human beings
interact with the environment to earnest the various resources available to fuel
multiple sectors which make human life possible today. The resources themselves can
be subdivided into renewable and non-renewable resources. Renewable resources are
those that can replenish and be ready to be utilized in a short period, these include
water, plants and animal, solar energy and wind power.

Human beings are also responsible for pollution and destruction of natural
resources. By interacting with the environment through various methods. Human beings
release waste into the atmosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere, leading to disturbances
in the ecological systems already established by the planet and fast destruction of the o3
layer.
2. Hydrosphere is the water sphere present on earth, including water vapor, fresh
water and salt water. The hydrosphere support all life forms on the planet,
providing a life line for life to thrive. The sphere is also home to many life forms
living in rivers, lakes and oceans.

The biosphere consist all life forms on the planet. It is important to earth since the
planet’s life supporting ability is a cumulative action from microscopic organisms to the
large mammals such as human beings. The biosphere maintain earth’s systems in a
constant that supports life. Increasing human population means that other species, which
could be beneficial the planet are considerably reduced. It is essential for maintaining
life.
The atmosphere provides gases, which birds, biosphere, can fly and human beings
can breathe. However, technology has paved way for human beings to exploit the sphere,
polluting it with carbon dioxide from the various activities undertaken by human beings.
3. Key environmental movements have impacted the view of environment, natural
resources and governance of the resources on the planet. The fluctuating salience
of environmental issues which is largely depended on mass coverage influence
policy by applying scientific knowledge on the challenges posed by the planet.
