AI Summary
This assignment presents a summary analysis of two articles concerning environmental science. The first article, "Sharing Economy: A Potential New Pathway to Sustainability," discusses the potential of the sharing economy to address unsustainable practices in production and consumption, advocating for a trans-disciplinary approach. The second article, "Ideological Cultures and Media Discourses on Scientific Knowledge: Re-Reading News on Climate Change," examines the media's role in shaping public perception of climate change, highlighting the influence of ideological standpoints on the representation of scientific claims. The analysis includes an overview of the articles' main arguments, an assessment of their value, and discussion questions related to the effectiveness of the sharing economy in developing countries and the political challenges of climate change. The student has used Harvard referencing style to cite the resources.

1SUMMARY ANALYSIS
Reading One:
Sharing Economy: A Potential New Pathway to Sustainability by Harald
Heinrichs
The article aims to describe and reason the facts and the factors that affect the
sustainable approaches included by a society or a country. The article has shown that in spite
of including policies an measures, the societies and thee countries still find it difficult to
approach and implement these policies and approaches effectively. The article starts with the
fact, that, irrespective of certain successful sustainable approaches and areas, most of the
areas are approached with unsustainable ways, and the overall trends that are followed in a
country are unsustainable paths (Heinrichs). The unsustainable approaches are mostly seen in
the manufacturing and in the fields of production and consumption of goods and services.
Therefore, the author has stated that to approach these areas, a shared economy approach can
be included. Whereby, the idle assets can be put into business, and thus a trans- disciplinary
science of sustainability can be included in the system. The sharing economy, according to
the author, has the potential to address and redress the economic approaches, and take
initiatives to reformulate the policies and strategies that a country has included (Heinrichs).
Reading Two:
Ideological Cultures and Media Discourses on Scientific Knowledge: Re-Reading
News on Climate Change by Anabela Carvalho
This particular article discusses about the climate change in the British Quality Press,
and states that from a discursive point of view, the scientific claims made by the media, can
be identified with the ideological standpoints. The articles states that the political and the
social order of a state direct and determine the tools to be used and the news, to be shown in
the media (Carvalho). Further the article states that the evaluation of the political programs

and the evaluation of the roles and responsibilities of a society, can be assessed by the
scientific tools.
Both the readings are more focused on the environmental changes and the current
climatic condition of the world, and, while article is more concerned about the economic
aspect for addressing and redressing the situation, another article is more focused on the
political relations and implications that are included in the situation.
The second reading has included into its approach the global warming conspiracy
theory, which states that the political organizations of a country are effectively contributing to
the increasing levels of global warming, it is the unawareness and the unsustainability
approach that the political organizations have, result into the increased levels of global
warming (Van der Linden).
On the other hand the first article has included the Theory of Planned Behaviour and
Prospect Theory to include and develop the ideas of the shared economy theory into the
discussion of climate change and theoretical assumptions (Schlüter et al.).
Therefore, upon reading the two articles and discussing about the same, the following two
questions can be asked and proposed.
1. How much effective will be the sharing economy from the perspective of a
developing and underdeveloped country?
2. How can the political challenges regarding the changing climatic condition be
addressed?
