Report
AI Summary
This report, written by a student, delves into several contemporary environmental and technological problems. It begins by addressing the issue of inadequate battery life in smartphones, linking it to the increasing demands of modern applications and the failure of current solutions to meet user expectations. The report then examines traffic congestion, attributing it to population growth and the limitations of existing infrastructure, while also considering the impact on emergency services. Further, the report discusses the lack of built-in chargers in phones and the inconvenience of finding charging points, suggesting innovative solutions like solar panels. The report also addresses pollution, highlighting its detrimental effects on health and the environment, and critiques the inadequacy of current mitigation strategies. Finally, the report analyzes parking-related problems, specifically the issue of overcharging and the lack of real-time notification systems for users, proposing the implementation of smart applications. The report concludes with a list of relevant references, supporting the analysis with research on each problem area.

1BACKGROUND LITERATURE ON SURROUNDING PROBLEMS
Lack of battery backup in most of the cell phones
The battery backup given from any kind of cell phone now-a-days is considered to be
very low. This is mainly due to the fact the increasing innovations in technology has led to the
formation of various applications (Talla et al.). These applications are responsible for draining
out the battery of these phones and thus, a decent battery backup is necessary for most of the
people using Smartphone now-a-days. I am also facing the same problem in my phone too.
The population of the world who is involved with any kind of Smartphone is facing this
kind of problem. As a result, this is creating a growing concern for implementing new features
for addressing this problem (Lepp et al.). However, I am upset mainly because of the promises
made by the cell phone companies. They claim to utilize newer technologies to increase the
power level, but in the end none can cope up with this.
The current solutions that various companies have undertaken are to increase the mAh
data of the batteries. This in turn is leading to an effective increase in the battery life. However,
with each ongoing day, I have found that the performance of the battery decreases consistently.
This needs to be addressed by the major cell phone companies.
No reduction in traffic jams
Traffic jams are another aspect which poses problems in our day-to-day lives. As with
every increasing day, population is increasing in a rapid manner. As a result, to address such
increases, automobile companies are making vehicles which are the sole reason for increasing
the traffic in the streets. Due to this, traffic signals are not able to meet the demands of a busy
street.

Due to this, the local people are being affected from this. The streets are getting busier
and a lot of traffic congestion is slowing the pace of life (Litman). The emergency cases are also
another point of concern where in cases of increased traffic jams, reaching the hospital becomes
a grave danger.
Due to these problems, there are various technologies that are being used for monitoring
traffic across the whole world. This is usually done by real-time monitoring the traffic across the
roads such that congestion can be monitored. In addition, there are much more traffic polices
who remain active every day. In spite of such actions, the traffic is not getting reduced. For truly
reducing the traffic, the government must rethink their transportation systems by building over
bridges or by building large community busses which will be able to carry more people at a time.
Lack of inbuilt charger in a phone
Phones now-a-days need both fast charging and long-lasting battery. Due to extensive
innovation of applications, phones are getting heated up in a fast manner. As a result, there is an
increasing need for charging up the phone (Roberts, Luc and Chris). Due to this, various phone
companies are making innovations in the battery life of a cell phone. In addition, the companies
are installing charging points in various corners of the city.
Despite of this, people are facing problem. A user needs to travel to various locations of
the city so that they can find a charging point. This is the main point of concern for many people
for finding a charging point.
Current solutions of including a heavy battery with good backup are always being
introduced. However, the introduction of self-charging feature is not being innovated. Adoption
of mini solar panels for capturing sun rays can deem to be very useful in this case. Due to this, a

cell phone can always get the charging feature by opening the solar panel installed. I think this
type of technology is required.
Lack of pollutant removers
Pollution is an important aspect which is affecting our daily lives. In addition, it is also
responsible for various types of health related diseases. These include water, air and land
pollutions. However, there is no step being taken for mitigating the pollution level.
The local population as well as the animals and birds are being affected by this. Due to
this, there are various health related problems which is causing grave effects (Çakir, Ali and
Ulviye). To mitigate such actions, the government needs to apply their research on how to do so.
In addition, the environmental companies must also bring in more products for mitigating these
levels of pollutions.
The current solutions only involve planting trees in the vicinity. This helps in reducing
the level of pollution. However, the solutions are not able to address the level of pollutions
effectively. This is because of the increasing amount of pollution level each day. As a result, the
trees are not that much effective in reducing it.
Parking related problems
Due to the parking of cars in areas involving tariff charges are a much to handle.
Moreover, in case the time of car parked goes even a minute beyond, users are charged for the
full hour. As a result, this is increasing the concern of many people.
The users who own a car are mainly affected by the problem. As a result of this, people
are paying much more money and there is no process to notify them. Technology must be in

place to notify the people who have parked their car (Cao and Monica). As such, people will be
able to see the duration of their parking along with the time remaining where they will be
charged extra.
The recent technologies involve posting of billing counters at each parking stations which
keeps track of time for the parked vehicles. However, this does not involve notifying the people
regarding this. As a result, the problem still exists. The innovations must involve the introduction
of smart applications such that these apps will notify users regarding their exhaustion of the time
available. As most of the people now-a-days have a Smartphone, the presence of such types of
applications is considered to be a better innovation.
