Structure and organization e Portfolio
INTRODUCTION
E portfolio is an electronic portfolio that consist of collection of documents, skills,
knowledge and ability. Electronic evidence include text, images, multimedia etc. As social media
helps in professional development growth and e portfolio that contribute in making it easy. It
offers advantage to nursing professionals. Therefor it is the best method for securing the
important document and details at one place.
PROPOSED PLAN
Purpose/aim of developing the e portfolio
The purpose of developing e portfolio is that it helps in designing images, files,
hyperlinks, multimedia etc. As it provide a safe record of important documents and personal
development plan. It facilitate in gathering evidence that is important regarding nursing and
personal care. As e portfolio helps in keeping record of documents that is required for
identification of person at various institutions or while doing job. This portfolio also saves the
paper as all the documents are transferred through electronic medium.
The aim of developing e portfolio is to reducing the risk while carrying important
documents from one place to another. As it is very risky to carry the original documents like CV
or documents related to institutions or job so e portfolio helps in keeping record of it (Barrot,
2016). It provides a storage of important files, images, entries etc. As its main aim is collecting
work of students and organize in systematic manner that enhances learning to them.
Development process of e portfolio
There are five stages of development process of e portfolio as follows:
Defining the portfolio context:- This stage helps in identification of purpose and aim of
portfolio. It also identifies the outcomes of learner. For developing portfolio it is necessary to
have hardware and software that have an access to students and may have skills to use that
technology in making portfolio.
The working portfolio:- In this stage content of portfolio and its type is being collected
for having evidence in future. Then selecting the development tool that is appropriate for

conducting the portfolio. Then storage of data is required which is most appropriate for learner.
Different materials is being gathered so that it will help learner in achievement (Yang, Tai and
Lim, 2016).
The reflective Portfolio:- This stage enhances reflection of work and goals that is
achieved by learner. If the learning is quality then it helps in development process of portfolio.
The connected portfolio:- At this stage different software are connected with each other
that emphasize on completing work on time and helps in development process of portfolio.
The presentation portfolio:- This is the last stage of portfolio that provide learner video
tape, computer hard disk for presenting work to audience Chang, Lee & Mills (2017). Therefore,
all the work is being presented for improvement that is being suggested in meeting.
Therefore, all the above stages helps in development process of e portfolio.

E portfolio plays an important role in development of career as it helps in providing them
proper record of their documents. It helps in career development as documents is safe and secure
through e portfolio. It helps in career development as by providing proper training to students. It
helps in getting more involved in the academic activities that enable career development of it. As
e portfolio helps in collecting the strength, weakness and opportunities that helps in gaining
knowledge about the nursing Smith (2018). As it is working in Personal Carer in aged care
which is in a nursing sector. As in this e portfolio helps in development under nursing as

maintaining the records of patients become easier through e portfolio. As through web all the
data is collected and gathered and then facilitate to the students that helps in developing career in
different fields of nursing. As it is difficult to maintain all the records manually so this portfolio
helps in managing all the work of the company Vázquez-Cano, Meneses and Martínez (2017).

CONCLUSION
From the above study it can be concluded that e portfolio plays an important part in
nursing sector. As e portfolio is a collection of work in electronic form that contains important
document that is needed to students in presenting their work in institutions. It includes evidences
such as electronic files, images, blog entries and hyperlinks. It is type of learning that enhances

actual evidence that a student can achieved. These learning records are related to learning plan
that is generated through e portfolio. It facilitate students in doing learning in their own way and
makes aware about the different strategies that is considered in e portfolio. There are three types
of portfolio such as developmental, assessment and showcase. As this portfolio helps in
developing proper recording of documents electronically. From the above study it can be
concluded that e portfolio plays a crucial role in managing and assembling the work of user.
