Introduction
The advancement in technology has brought various changes in the professional fields
and one of them is the inclusion of e-portfolio. Like other professions, e-portfolio is used in
the nursing practice (Collins & Crawley, 2016). Here, in this paper, the aim of developing an
e-portfolio along with the platform, materials and relevance to the nursing career will be
discussed. The estimated time of completion and the strategies of usefulness of e-portfolio
will also be analyzed.
Aim of developing the e-portfolio
Portfolio, in digital form is mainly referred to as an e-portfolio which is widely used
in various fields of profession and specifically, in nursing profession. E-portfolio is basically
designed to support learning by providing a secured record of appraisals. It is aimed to foster
career building along with personal as well as professional development. It will enable
students to present evidence of the academic and professional achievements throughout the
course. At the end of the year, students put selections of their work in the e-portfolio so that
the teacher can assess their learning throughout the course. It helps in promoting student’s
