The best practices of equality as well as diversity ensures that services offered to
individuals should be accessible and fair to everyone. This report is based on three tasks and all
the tasks are based on the aspect of equality and diversity. In first task, there will be a research
report on analysing benefits of fostering equality and diversity while second task is based on

MAIN BODY
TASK A
Research Report
a) Analysation of advantages of fostering equality and diversity along with a summary on
advantages as well as their influence
In context of United Kingdom, the concept of equality is about making sure that a person
has equal opportunities and is untreated as apart due to the attributes. The concept of diversity is
considered with taking account of deviations among groups as well as people and gives a
optimistic value on such deviations. As a volunteer, it is analysed that equality and diversity in
teaching will assist the learners in instilling moral and social traits which would help them in
their growth throughout their younger age and into mature life. Diversity in teaching facilitates
the students of all races in improving their intellectual involvement, cultural engagement, self-
motivation, academic skills such as critical thinking skills, writing and reading skills, etc. In
relation to business management, concept of equality and diversity should be taken into
consideration because it helps in making successful business and also makes manpower
motivated and happy (Atewologun and Mahalingam, 2018). It also helps them in preventing
from legal or serious issues like bullying, discrimination and harassment. The impact of
promoting equality and diversity in teaching will facilitate the learners in feeling more safe,
comfortable and confident with the differences in their later life and also allow them to connect
with various social groups.

Equality Act 2010 is a law that protects and guards an individual from getting
discriminated or unfair treatment on the basis of particular attributes like age, race, disability,
gender, etc. The importance of Anti-Bullying policies is that it helps in protecting and
safeguarding the students from getting bullied who are enrolled in learning centres. Anti-
harassment policy facilitates students in preventing from harassment incidents and making them
feel comfortable and safe (Boysen, and Chandra, 2021). Effective disciplinary processes helps in
avoiding allegations of disparity in treating students and reducing threats of an action for
unlawful discrimination.
b) Explanation of actions taken to express demonstration of how a learner is valued
It is very crucial to assist the students feel valued and for that it is important for a
volunteer to know the students. There are many ways to get to know them but taking
introduction of each student and knowing their likes and dislikes is considered as a best way as it
makes them feel valued. Another action is listen to the students that can be taken by a volunteer
to make the learners feel valued as inviting the individuals within the class to assess their
learning would help in feeling them valued. Rewarding and encouraging them is also an action
that can be taken by a volunteer for acknowledging efforts that are put by student towards
writing excellent topics and praising them for what they have written. It would also help
individual learners in making them feel valued.
c) Explanation regarding best practices to provide individual learners with knowledge
There are various practices to make the learning stick and some of the good practices
involve connecting the content with meaning, encouraging self-testing rather than rote learning
(Klarsfeld and Kay, 2022). Another practice to provide information to individual learners include
giving frequent tasks, low-stake assessments, evaluating their responses and many more.
Equality and diversity fosters equality of opportunity for all along with providing the chance to
an individual in order to attain their potential level which should be free from discrimination and
biasness.

TASK B
Personal Account
a) Description of using communication strategies for fostering equality as well as diversity
Communication strategies are those methods that are used for sharing or transferring
information in any form such as verbal, visual or non-verbal. In context of business management,
effective communication among managers and subordinates generate an equal opportunity within
the workplace through which various workers get encouraged and empowered to excel.
Engagement as well as respect for each person in management stands to increase performance
and improve working conditions (Phipps, 2020). In order to promote equality and diversity in
business management, there are various communication strategies and some of them are
listening more closely and more often to the human resources, not to interrupt them through
cutting someone off, consider the attitudes and body language while communicating with others,
etc. Effective communication makes sure that persons from different backgrounds, religions or
age groups share a powerful rapport and not face any issue while working together. Individuals
when effective communicate within the workplace seldom fight and also solve half of their
issues themselves. Being aware of unconscious biasness is also an important strategies of
communication for fostering diversity as well as equality.
b) Discussion on actions taken by individual undermining equality and diversity
A person can countermine diversity as well as equality through various ways such as
stereotyping, discrimination, bullying, harassment and many more. In context to business
management, volunteer can provide information to its students regarding these process that can
undermine equality as well as diversity. Like, through stereotyping there can be reduction in
domain identification, job involvement, responsiveness towards feedback, career aspirations, etc.
It has consequences in other aspects also like entrepreneurship, competitiveness, leadership and
negotiations. All this factors can undermine equality and diversity in workplace and can greatly
impact human resources personally also (Pilkington, 2020). Bullying is that aggressive behaviour
which is repetitive and intentional through which an individual can have power differentials that
are present in between the victim as well as bully. It can affect the physical and mental health of
an individual also. Discrimination is another way through which a person erode the base of

equality and diversity as through this process people can feel excluded if they are unable to
participate in activities because of their differences.
c) Recommendations in order to modify situations and structures of learning that do not give
equality and diversity
In order to modify the situations as well as structures of learning, an individual, in
relation to business management, is recommended to consider internal processes and systems,
common inspection framework, codes of practice, equality legislation along with associated
amendments, disciplinary process, complaints as well as appeals processes. By following and
adhering such processes and policies, an individual can improve its structure of learning. It
would help the person in chasing competitive advantages in this competitive world. With the
help of training and development sessions within the workplace, an individual can develop its
skills, abilities and capabilities. This would facilitate in achieving higher level of productivity as

assist in generating more income within business.
TASK C
Reflective Account
a) Evaluation on the influence of practice to foster equality as well as diversity
In the process to
foster equality and diversity, I have made use of techniques like Brookfield's lenses as this has
helped me in improving my self-reflection, process of giving feedback, conducting assessments
in proper way and many more. Evolving these processes has facilitates me in giving foundation
for the best teaching and it has also helped me in becoming an excellent teacher (Saifuddin,
Chhina and Zaman, 2022). I have obtained feedbacks from a wide number of sources such as
awarding bodies, learners, people, internal observations, managers, etc. apart from it, there are
different practices that can be implemented by me in order to foster equality as well as diversity.
I will begin it by following the policies that are given by the association that will be aligned
along with rules that are specified by the political system like government. I will also follow to
any issue that has raised an origin of interest and would also study it to that personality who is
appointed. I will keep my self updated with the procedures and the policies by reading it yearly. I

also can request for intrinsic as well as extrinsic moderators to analyse my methods of teaching
along with suggesting further actions.

equality and diversity
Culture of an organisation can be vague to pin down and explain, but for the most part the
behaviour of an individual can impact the organisational culture. If I make decisions at work
which is unfit or unhealthy for the organisation, then it can negatively impact the culture of the
organisation. Such types of decisions can incur loss within the workplace and hampers the
productivity as well a profitability of the organisation. The negative behaviours like not listen to
any manager or any employee within the business can also influence the culture of the workplace
as the respect or image of an individual can be fall down. There are other ways also through my
attitude or behaviour can effect the organisational culture.

knowledge level and ultimately support diversity within workplace.

and Human Rights Commission, legislations, organisational policies, codes of practice, anti-
harassment policies, challenging stereotypes, disciplinary processes, challenging or inappropriate
