INTRODUCTION
Background of Research
Equality is mainly about respecting the staff members in term of their age, gender,
experience, cultural background and rationality. On the other sider diversity means having
employees from different background working all together within a workplace. equality and
diversity at workplace has now become a necessity of each organization in today’s competitive
world (Arday, 2019). Today customers are having range of options and alternative to choose
product of their choice. Hence diversified workforce helps in decoding the pattern of different
market demand irrespective of features they maintain. Other than this it also provides with
innovative ideas and support in brings products or services that remains different and at the same
time unique from that of already available in market place. Hence it helps in enhancing the
market performance of an organization along with providing it competitive edge at marketplace
(Bowl, 2018). Therefore current study is conducted for investigating about several behaviour that
promote equality and diversity at workplace by considering Hilton hotel as organization for
research.
Aim and Objectives of Research
Research Aim:
The aim of the investigation is “To evaluate about the concept of equality and diversity
along with the behaviors that support creation of Equality and Diversity in the workplace”. A
research conducted on Hilton London Tower Bridge situated at London Riverside, Tooley St,
London SE1 2BY, United Kingdom.
Research Objectives:
The objectives in relation to this investigation are mentioned below:
To evaluate concept of equality and diversity in general.
To investigate about the impact of behaviors that support Equality and Diversity on
success and productivity of Hilton Hotel.
To identify the possible behaviors that support creation of equality and diversity in Hilton
Hotel in order to lead better success.

Research Questions
The questions of research provide direction to the overall investigation. In relation to this
investigation, the research questions are as follows:
How the concept of equality and diversity is important and viable for an organisation?
What impact could be seen on success of an organisation through supporting behaviours
of equality and diversity?
How Hilton hotel can ensure creation of Behaviours that support Equality and Diversity
to enhance its success level?
Rationale of research
The main reason behind performing this study is that it assists in analysing the significance
of equality and diversity and workplace and the impact of behaviours which support it on success
of Hotel. Apart from this, it also helps the management of Hotel in ensuring development of
effective behaviour that helps in maintaining equality in diversity and leads it towards success
(Attia, and Edge, 2017). This investigation is highly significant for the hotel in attaining growth
and success in the market.
LITERATURE REVIEW
The concept of equality and diversity
As per the information presented by Sharma, 2016, equality and diversity at workplace
consist of lots of things such as respecting different culture, age, skills, experience etc. Both the
concept equality and diversity are considered significant for current era of business as with
increasing use of technology and transport the reach of organizations has speeded over several
different geographical regions. This in turn require them they operate with due care for offering
product or services as per the need and preference of different customer which usually get
changes with time and place where they reside. So, at such time the management of diversity
remains very much essential as employees belong to different background help in getting better
understanding about the culture, taste and preferences of customer which ensures offering right
product to right market and hence contribute toward the growth and success of organization
(Butcher, 2016). Other than this for managing equality among diversified employees it become
easier to retain talent within organization for longer duration which ensures more employee
engagement and better performance from employees’ side that further help in achieving the

organizational goals and objectives. As per the opinion of Sarter, E. K. and Thomson, E., 2019,
in general the concept of equality and diversity is mainly associated with providing faired and
equal opportunity and befits for all employees irrespective of any discrimination and also aim at
creating a better binding and connection among the workforce of an organisation (Gordon,
2018).
The impact of Behaviors that support Equality and Diversity on success and productivity of
Hilton Hotel.
As per the data presented by Barak, 2016, people working within the organization matters
a lot for success of a company. Hence it remains the morale responsibility of organization to
create such an environment or behavior which contribute toward promoting equality and
diversity. The behavior that support equality and diversity support a lot in improving the
organizational performance and sustainability within the marketplace. Each employee of Hilton
hotel will stand to benefit the company when their diversity is being valued, ideas are being
considered and appreciated. This is so because it will bring maximum employees’ engagement
and their remains a regular flow of innovative ideas which in turn help in getting more and more
customer satisfaction from the efforts presented by employees. Hence this further contribute
toward enhancing the brand image of Hilton hotel which in turn further contribute toward
maximum customer reach and hence support in getting success at marketplace.
As per the view point of Greene, A. M., 2019, it is important for an organisation to look
out for and adopt behaviours that support creating of equality and diversity as it lead to creating
of higher motivation in employees that lead to improvement in their efficiency and productivity
that is crucial and vital for success of an organisation (Hamidullah, 2015). Addition to this the
innovative ideas and support that diversity and inclusion of employees bring support in
enhancing the quality of operations by reducing the chances of error or resolving the issue in
more effective manner. This in turn further support in improving the productivity of employees
as when they present their view or ideas and get support from their employees. Thus, it a can be
said that the behaviors which support equality and diversity can lead the organisation towards
success and assist in improving its productivity.

According to Abramson and Moran, 2017, just saying that an organisation maintain
equality and diversity at workplace is not enough. This sis about policies that have to be place in
favour of managing equality and respect about the diversity among each employee by promoting
a working culture where each individual feel valued and being supported for performing their

role. This must be beginning from the top management by demonstrating behaviour that value
diversity and equality within the language they uses and everything they actually perform. The
Hilton hotel must focus toward presenting their organisational policies in a way where they
describe about the set of standards to which each employee must adhere and presenting guidance
about the set of behaviour that are being demanded from them. Additionally, the consequences or
punishments must be specified before in case employees do not adhere to those standards for
getting fully implementation of set standards.
According to the perceptive of Ashurst, A., 2019, the possible behaviours that would
support creation of equality and diversity in Hilton Hotel consist of adoption of unbiased HR
prcatises as it leads to equal chances of recruitment and growth opportunity for all. Further,
implication of participative management is also an effective behaviour to would support creation
of equality and diversity (Hossain and et. al., 2019). Other than this, Hilton hotel can also
organise several kind of schemes or programs around the inclusion practice which in turn help in
demonstrating the commitment of employees toward their work. Under such program employees
are being trained and guided to accept different culture and background for involve those into
their working practice (Ennaji, 2020). This in turn allow Hilton hotel and developing a behaviour
of respecting and valuing different culture and diversity among employees and encourage them
to work with coordination which in turn further contribute toward enhancing productivity of
Hilton hotel which sometimes get affected due to disputes among employees. Hence, support in
accomplishing the gaols and achieving organisational success at marketplace.

As per the above analysis and interpretation of data, it has been found that equality and
diversity is significant in increasing profitability, reducing turnover, enhancing brand reputation
of Hilton Hotel. So, it can be said that the first objective of the research is fulfilled. The second
objective of the research is impact of behaviors that support Equality and Diversity on success
and productivity of Hilton Hotel. By performing the analysis and interpretation of data, it has
been found that there is positive impact of the behaviors which support equality and diversity on
success and productivity of Hotel. Thus, it can be said that the second objective of research is
achieved. Apart from this, developing effective diversity policies, hiring diverse workforce,
providing diversity training to employees etc. support in creation of equality and diversity in
hotel that leads to success. The behaviours which support equality and diversity are impact
positively on productivity of Hotel. To sum up, it can be said that all the objectives of the study
are accomplished in an effective manner.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Conclusion
As per the above mentioned report, it can be concluded that managing equality and
diversity impacts positive performance and productivity of hotel and lead it towards success.
Apart from this, the behaviors of management like developing effective diversity policies,
providing training to employees, development of inclusive environment, treating all individuals
equally etc. will assist in creation of equality diversity in workplace. With the help of diverse
workplace, an organisation can gain several benefits including effective culture, increased
collaboration, retention of competent talent and healthy workplace environment. So, it can be
concluded that it is very necessary for the hotel to manage equally diverse workplace so that all
the employees stay satisfied and perform their roles and responsibilities towards accomplishment
of organizational goals.
Recommendations
As per the findings of research, it is recommended to the Hilton Hotel that:
It should provide diversity training to all its employees so that they are able to get aware
of the concept and contributes in managing healthy workplace culture where all the
employees work productively to attain goals of Hotel.
Apart from this, it is also recommended to the management that it must higher candidates
with diverse skills and knowledge and from diverse backgrounds so that it all the required
competencies are available in the organisation and goals and objectives can be effectively
accomplished.
In addition to this, the management should develop effective diversity policies and
communicate them effectively within the workplace so that all the employees get aware
of the policy and work accordingly.

By performing this investigation, I learnt many new things like how to perform research in
an effective way, how to collect data etc. Performing this research helped in improving my
knowledge base and giving deeper insights on the topic. In this investigation, quantitative
research method was being utilised as this assisted me in drawing valid and accurate outcomes of

research. However, in collecting primary data, I faced difficulties as I was not able to go outside
and get the questionnaires filled by the respondents. Because of spread of coronavirus, I was not
able to go individually to a person and asked them to fill the questionnaire. So, I made use of
emails to send the questionnaire to the respondents. Through this way, I was able to collect
responses from them and accomplish aim of the research.
Instead of using quantitative research method, I can also use qualitative method for
collecting data. Apart from this, instead of using deductive approach, I can also use inductive
approach in this investigation to ensure that valid outcomes of research can be drawn. This
research helped in improving my skills and competencies which contributes in my growth and
development. However, while performing research I found that I need to work upon my
communication skills. So, for improving communication skill, I will take help of professionals
and internet so that I will be able to communicate effectively with others and help me in getting
good employment.

environment for an organisation. Further, it is also important from personal view point of

equality and diversity is mainly associated with providing faired and equal opportunity
and befits for all employees irrespective of any discrimination and also aim at creating a
better binding and connection among the workforce of an organisation (Gordon, 2018).
To determine the importance of behaviours that support creating of equality and
diversity in context of success of an organisation
As per the view point of Greene, A. M., 2019, it is important for an organisation to look
out for and adopt behaviours that support creating of equality and diversity as it lead to
creating of higher motivation in employees that lead to improvement in their efficiency
and productivity that is crucial and vital for success of an organisation (Hamidullah,
2015).
To indentify the possible behaviours that would support creation of equality and

According to the perceptive of Ashurst, A., 2019, the possible behaviours that would
support creation of equality and diversity in Hilton Hotel consist of adoption of unbiased
HR prcatises as it lead to equal chances of recruitment and growth opportunity for all.
Further, implication of participative management is also an effective behaviour to would

Research Philosophy- It has been evaluated that use of Positivism research philosophy is
appropriate for current investigation on Hilton Hotel as it the philosophy that is associated
with quantitative research and lead a more practical way of investigation (WEARING,
2019). Further, use of Positivism research philosophy also ensures a more scientific and
systematic way to support quantitative form of data.
Research approach- There are two commonly used research approach which mainly
consists of deductive and inductive approach of investigation. Deductive approach is the
one that fit and suitable for analysis of quantitative data thus, it is selected for current
investigation on Hilton Hotel.
Research method- The most widely used research method consist of quantitative and
qualitative research but in relation to current investigation use of quantitative seemed more
viable and appropriate as it is relayed with collection of data in numbers or statistical form
that could be easily and more effectively presented. Further, it is much easier to collect
quantities form of data from participates in numeric forms.
Source of data collection- From primary and secondary sources of data collection both the
sources are applied and adopted for current investigation. To ensure collection of first

hand and authentic data use of primary sources of data collection is made along with
support of secondary sources in from recorded and old facts and figures.
Instrument used- Use of survey method is made for current investigation on Hilton Hotel
where data is collected with use of questionnaire.

employees of Hilton Hotel a group of 30 respondents is selected for current investigation.
