their roles and responsibilities towards their duty. As this will help them in addressing those
issues with effectiveness. It is crucial to understand morality and the meaning of moral decisions

Equality And Diversity In The Workplace. 2015).
There can be a situation when any patient refuses to take treatment or his or her
medicines, in such situation, system rules and legislation or professional codes of practice can
provide valuable guidance. Duty of a nurse in any nursing home is to work patiently with their
patients. They should also ensure that they provide a healthy environment to their patients so that

care profession in healthcare industry as it can have a huge impact on their profession. Health
and social care professionals should treat service users in ways that enhance their capacity to
choose the best options for themselves (Sepulveda, Paladin and Rawson, 2018).
The main principle behind informed choice is that they should ensure that they are taking
the right options which can help their patients and their family members as well. It is very crucial
to ensure that all the service users values and culture are taken into consideration.
4.3 Explaining how issues of individual capacity may affect informed choice

getting the best option for themselves. There can be various reasons why an individual is unable
to make an informed choice, such as, he or she is unable to understand the situation, he or she in
not that confident to make an informed choice, etc. To deal with such issues, it is very important
for the nurse to provide them all the information correctly including all the benefits and risks that
are linked to it. This will help in making an informed decision (Harper, 2018).
