Equality and diversity at workplace can be
defined as no discrimination takes place in an
organisation where all the opportunities are
given to staff members on an equal basis.
Colour, race, religion, culture and so on some
of the crucial factors which are said to be the
main components in an organisation that may
lead an organisation to face discrimination at
their workplace.
In present time, it has been found that most of
the organisations are encouraging themselves
to deliver equal opportunities to both men and
women staff members.
For this they have developed different range of
policies considering various acts like equality
act 2010 and so on.
These policies have given employee with the
rights to ensure that employees stay on the
right side of the particular law. Equality and
diversity related policies has given ample
number of benefits to staff members like It
helped in reducing or preventing employment
related disputes and also it has given
opportunities equally to the staff where they
ensure some of the points that are presented
underneath:

Women staff are being paid equally just as the
male staff members are being paid by the
organisation like same daily wages.
An individual who is handicapped like he or
she is in a wheelchair may also perform all the
desk related work just like others are doing
without showing his or her disability.
Age is anything but a prohibitive factor in
business (where the individual has the range
of abilities to play out the job).
Employees are not ignored for
advancement because of incapacity
or sexuality.
Considering the above-mentioned
information, it is concluded that it is pretty
much needed to ensure that equality along
with the diversity at workplace is
specifically being applied in terms of both
staff members and employer. On the other
side, they both are responsible for any sort
of actions linking with the discrimination
where both of them can take actions as per
the law.
