INTRODUCTION
Background
Workplace equality and diversity are two different concepts which, however, they are
intertwined, equality is directly depend on the acceptance of diversity for the equal treatment in
to the employees at workplace. Diversity is the range of ethnic, cultural and generational
difference which are present in the workplace. Whereas equality is the concept where all
employees are to be treated equally with equal consideration, race, gender, regardless of their
culture, disability or any other factors. And for availing the equality within the workplace
training is necessary.
Aims and Objectives
Aims : “To examine the benefits of Equality and Diversity in the workplace”.
Objectives :
To identify the role of Equality and diversity in the workplace.
To determine the practices acquired by the company for Equality and Diversity.
To identify the impact of Equality and Diversity on employee performance.
To recommend the ways or strategies to formulate Equality & diversity at workplace
environment.

generational, genetics, religious, and sexual orientation differences are different attributes that
directly contributes to the organization's wide appeal among the community and across the
worldwide marketplace.
As illustrated Klarsfeld and et.al., (2016) Diversity and equality within the workplace are
the vital for the growth of the company. Employing people from all genders and races make the
organization stronger within the other competitive companies. Companies should be made sure
about their company equal employment policy. And set up periodic review system for the
inundation of the polices according to the changes. Training can also be provided to the
employees on equality and diversity procedure. Effective diversity management requires culture
which include the work environment which nurture teamwork, cohesiveness and participation. A
manager in the organizations are focused on the workplace equality by avoiding “us” versus
“them” allusions and comments. Employees from different background have various feelings
and needs that are to be respected within the workplace. It is very necessary for the management
to understand the needs of such diverse groups of people for avoiding conflicts and tension
among the employees at workplace. Thus, the diversity and equality have a typical label in the
UK's organization and organization across the world. They are bitten different terms. The term
equal opportunity is associated with right based, tolerant and is entrenched in conformity of law
rules where its is focusing on raising the proportion of women and minorities in senior goals at
the organization. Organizations are bound to company with the legislative requirements and
having targets for recruitment and bringing out workplace programs which are outlaw by
discrimination of which are Racial Discrimination Act in the UK and Sex Discrimination Act
1975 in UK.
According to Sharma, (2016) Equality and diversity among the workplace means a lot of
things. It is that respecting the staff for their gender, age, cultural, religion, carer, background,
skills, sexual orientation and beliefs. In UK companies are legally restricted to follow practices
which eliminates discrimination among the employees and ensure fair and equal treatment at
workplace. All the workers are to be treated equally and same opportunities are rendered to
them and couldn't be discriminated on the basis of any prescribed characteristic of individual.
The legislation of UK ensures that company must ensure about the good working environments,
and thus differences never stand among the employees and their career progressions or getting

the jobs in the workplace. There are wide range discrimination acts which are existed in the
legislation which make sure companies for adhering minimum standards. The legislation of the
UK is comprehensive. These act includes-Equality Act, Human Rights Act, Sex Discrimination
Act, Disability Discrimination Act and Relation Act which can be applicable at the workplace
for the discrimination. All these laws ensures that the staff which are recruited form the wide
pool of potential candidates. But once at workplace all staff should be given equal opportunities,
treatment, regardless of their race, gender, nationality, ability and sexuality or any other
protected characteristic. Equality is about fostering and promoting each individual a right to be
different form others. Law protect them from discrimination and ensures that individual must be
valued by giving rights to their won values and beliefs. As diversity means different and varied.
So, diversity is more than equality, it's all about forming cultures which values individual
differences and variety of the benefits to society, organizations and individuals.
As per the Klarsfeld and et.al., (2016) company must have to adopt some practices to
enhance equality and diversity within the workplace which can be further followed by their
employees and can easily promote the diversity and equality at the workplace. The mandatory
training are provided to all the employees which is the effective way to promote equality and
diversity among the workplace. For the better understanding of the workforce it is necessary to
provide education ad training to employees which will somehow helpful for the organization to
grow together as diversity-minded team. Companies should have a specific complaint process
where problems are listened and conflicts are solved which arises to the employees within the
workplace. As some organizations have particular office for hearing and investigating concern
whereas in some complaints are discussed with the human resource management. All the
employees must know the full process to file complaint. And complaints should be handled by
emphasizing fairly, equally and with diversity so that the employee will gain a strong
appreciation to the organizational values and beliefs. The national government of UK enforced
the companies by providing various to protect prospective employees by being discriminated
against race, religions, age, sex, skin, color, genetic information, national origin or disability.
The effective equality approach render protection to the organization and employees. A
complaint process must be thoroughly investigated and handled promptly, and must included
transparent outcome. An organization that embraces equality and diversity can provide rewards
and incentives to the employee who went extra miles to be inclusive from other. A special thank

performance of employees is that it suspended to motivate the employees for contributing to the
company in positive way. In contrast, if company perform discrimination for promoting the
employees, the employees will be discouraged and unmotivated if fair and appropriate decision
is taken by the management of company. The major conflicts may be arrived among the co-
workers and thus this will have an adverse effect on the performance of the employees. They
will not tend to work in team so all employees must be treated equally. Diverse workforce leads
to increase creativity among the individual and motivate them to work with different
background individual and learn things from each other and work in the team for attaining the
single objective together. If employees will be motivated and boosted up then thus they will
move forward by giving up their best for the completion of task before time this will directly
increase the performance of the employees along with the positive vibes in them. If there is
discrimination performed among the employees thus this will result in lack of motivation among
the employees and thus they will not have an positive attitude for their work and thus they
couldn't be able to perform their task effectively along with achieving the companies target
effectively. The individual are tends to work with different culture and diversity at same
workplace motivate the to learn the culture and diversities of different individual this also raises
the knowledge factors among the individual and thus they will be motivated to work in team. So
this will helpful for them to learn different things from their co-workers, and they will work with
more positive vibes and if they learn more things and develop skills in them this will directly
raise their performance.

It is the specific process and technique which are used to select, identify, analyze and
process information about the topic. It allows the reader to critically evaluate study's overall
reliability and validity. The main questions which are answered under the methodology section
are – how the data is collected and how that data is analyzed.

Research Approach
It is the procedure and plan which consist or steps of broad assumptions for detailing
method of data collection, interpretation and data analysis. It can divide into two group that is
inductive and deductive. Deductive approach would be taken as the research approach. It is
taken in consideration to research as it directly effects the labor migration within EU which are
accessed by developing hypothesis which will be tested during the research process.
Types of research -
Research methods are depended on the types of research in accordance to the study of
the project. According to the purpose study can be categorized as Quantitative research and
Qualitative research. Quantitative research is the research where phenomena are described by
the numerical data which are descriptive and includes inferential statistical data. Whereas, in
Qualitative research phenomena are depicted in the narrative fashion and major schemes are
identified under this. Qualitative research would be taken for the research as it is the method of
collecting data and analyzing business studies which are focusing groups, interviews, case
studies, observations and role-playing etc(Bendl and et.al., 2015).
Data sampling -
Sampling can be a specific principle used for selecting members of population that are
top be included in the study. Due to large population of organization the researcher had to select
the number of population or cases which would be determined while conducting the research.
Sampling methods can be divided into two categories that are probability and non-probability.
In the research non-probability method of sampling is used for researching in which members
are randomly selected and each member doesn't has chance to participate in study. The size of
the sampling is ten managers which are taken in the research.
Data Collection -
Data collection method is the method of collecting the data for the research. There are
two types of data collection method that is primary and secondary. Primary data are collected
for specific purpose that can be critically analyzed for finding the answers for the research
questions. Secondary data refers to the data which have been published previously in magazines,
journals, books, newspapers, online portals or any other sources. Primary data collection method
is used in the research as all the data which are used in the research never exist previously and
which is not published previously. The data will be collected by in the form of questionnaire. It

is helpful in taking review from different peoples by asking them various questions. The
questions will be asked to 30 peoples and there will be 10 questions asked.
Data Analysis -
Data analysis involves interpretation and critical analysis of numbers and figures and
attempts for finding rationale along with the focus on main findings. The different types of data
analysis are thematic and statistical analysis. Thematic analysis is used for the research as in
qualitative research and focusing on patterns and themes of meaning within the data. Exploring
the implicit and explicit meaning within the data(Pringle and Ryan, 2015).
Validity and reliability
In order to increase the validity of research authentic data will be collected and proper research
methodology is being applied . In the research proper sample size and data will be collected in the
form of questionnaire which will increase the reliability of research.
Inclusive culture must be formed for all the staff and management as that it will allow the
employees to work with equity, respect and positive recognition of differences which can be
cultivated for the team work of employees. The manager should ensure that the all employees
should equally participate in the learning process so that they properly learn from all the learning
program and feel equally treated by their managers. Should motivate their staff to develop the
potential among them for working positively in the team and perform the task effectively.

On the basis of above discussion and examination. It has been concluded that how
Equality and Diversity can be the most benefited thing for the company if they have applied the

best productive practices. Study concluded the research project on the aim is to examine the
benefits of Equality and diversity within the workplace diversity and goals. Also study have
concluded that how it is important for the company organization.
P2 Primary and secondary sources
Data collection is the core method to further conduct the research process. Data collection is
the technique to collect data through different sources and methods to possibly meet the study
aims and objectives. Therefore, data collection technique relevantly collect data as per the
requirement of the research topic. Also it helpful to measure the outcomes and makes the high
performing goals. Data collection methods has been divided into two methods secondary and
primary collection method. Primary collection method is the way to collect present and actual
data from taking survey, observation, etc. Primary method of data collection is further divided
into method quantitative and qualitative. In Contrary, Secondary method of data collection is
more factual and helps to collect data as much is required by the researcher (Milner, 2017). In
other words, secondary method of data collection is used to collect data from internet, books,
journals etc. all such data and information has already been exit and written by other researchers.
In order to collect advantages and benefits of Equality & Diversity researcher has been taken
both method. Primary method is following supported by Questionnaire and Secondary method is
been collecting through different journals and articles from internet by formulating as a
Literature review.
P3 Cost, access, ethical issues
Ethical Issues: The research is done by considering ethics. In the research of data adequacy level
of confidentiality is ensured. The research participants in the research are not harmed while
conducting the research. Research participants are prioritized for the respecting their dignity. The
privacy of research participants is protected within the research process.
Cost: Entire research needed cost of 1000 Pound.
Access: researcher has used only authorised sites to get relevant details.
P4 METHODOLOGY
Research Approach : Research approach is the method of research which analyse the
study in the relevant manner. It is divided into two parts deductive and inductive research
approach. Deductive approach is concerned with developing a hypothesis which is based on
existing theory. In other words, deductive approach helpful to determine the relationship between
