1. Summary of the Project
This project is basically based on the development and implementation of an Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) system for an educational institution that wants to upgrade its existing
information system infrastructure. The ERP will provide the institution with multiple benefits
including automated and efficient data management systems, cloud based data storage systems
and others. While the project will reduce the need for human resources for data management,
paper documents and manual handling of data, it will increase the overall system efficiency,
accuracy and operations management for the institution.
2. Goals and Objectives
The goals of the project are as follows.
 Implementation of a web based system
 Elimination of the use of paper documents
 Implementation of cloud based data storage system
 Reduce the need for human resources for handling of data
The objectives of the project are as follows.
 To ensure easy access of data with sufficient security and regulatory requirements
 To replace inefficient manually handled system
 To replace physical storage devices

 To develop student and staff portals and migrate some parts of the education
process to the online interface (online tests, downloadable reference materials,
assignments and others)
3. Key Milestones of the Project
There are five key milestones in the project that are listed as follows.
i. Receive approval to proceed with project after the project proposal is approved.
ii. Receive approval to go ahead after project plan is approved.
iii. Completion of ERP system development and implementation.
iv. Completion of testing of the implemented system.
v. Project closure.
