1 Introduction
ABC Pvt. Ltd. is a stationary manufacturing company dealing with both manufacturing and supply of the
stationaries to all its clients across the country. The company is purely relying on manual records for
data recording for all its processes. This processes includes production, logistics, accounting and human
resource processes. Manual processes of record keeping are acting as a bottleneck to the company
because of the high number of processes undertaken by over 1000 employees in every branch owned by
the company. Thus, there is need for an ERP to be deployed in the company to help automate most the
processes currently being undertaken manually. By deploying the ERP the company will help reduce the
workload of its employees by a significant margin. The ERP system will also provide a more efficient way
of record keeping as retrieval and processing of the large sets of data will be more efficient.
The ERP system will deal with very critical data thus there is need for verification and validation of the
system to make sure that all functionalities are working according to the requirements and all data is
stored and processed accurately.
2 Verification plan
The system will be developed using the waterfall method thus there is a distinct phase in the model
where all the verification is done and only until the verification phase is complete will the system be
deployed (Nadig, 2018).
2.1 Feedback plan
The ERP system will operate differently in different departments making up the company thus to verify
the system the feedback plans will differ from department to department. The following departments
will be captured as modules in the system;
Production
Logistics
Finance
Accountancy
Human Resource
Each department has shareholders who will be involved in verification of the system. The verification
will be different for every department where by each department will be presented with a verification
plan depending on the functional requirements of that department.
2.2 Criteria
A pass or fail criteria has to be defined in order to define what tests have passed or failed. To know the
severity of the failure all failures must be classified in order to determine the impact of the failure on the
system and the type of action needed to resolve the failure.
The types of failure classifications are;
Fatal- Failure leading to breakdown of the system or possible loss of data
Very serious- Malfunctioning of the system causing a standstill to many users for example to a
whole department
Document Page
Serious failure- Requirement implemented incorrectly or partially leading to a standstill for a
few users
Moderate Failure- Minor failure affecting counted users only
Mild Failure- Very minor error for example spelling errors.
2.3 Test cases
Testing will be done for two types of requirements;
Functional requirements
Non-functional requirements
2.3.1 Functional requirements
To test the functional requirements all the functional requirements will be classified in their respective
departments and the stakeholder for each department will test every requirement (Guru99, 2018).
2.3.2 Non-Functional requirements
The following non-functional requirements will be tested;
Maintainability
Security and privacy
Availability
Interoperability
Performance
Usability
The following types of tests will be done on both the functional and non-functional requirements;
Component testing
Integration testing
System testing
Acceptance testing
