Lewin’s v/s Kotter v/s ADKAR Model of Change
Lewin’s change model helps the management in effectively implementing change within the
organisation, as the model follows three stages to implement change within the organisation.
The first stage is to introduce the employees with the need for the change within the
organisation, the next step follows the implementation of the change within the organisation
and the final step involves ensuring that the change has been introduced and the activities are
being conducted as per change 6.
Kotter’s change management is divided into eight stages that effectively guides the
management to take decisions during the change management process and implement change
within the organisation, but the model is time consuming as compared to the Lewin change
model as it involves a step-by-step model 7.
ADKAR model of change is a tool that effectively implement change within the organisation
and focus on achieving the goals and objectives of the organisation, as the model focus on
creating awareness before implementing change, creating desire among the employees,
providing knowledge about the change, maintaining change within the organisation and keep
it reinforced for later. This model effectively analyses organisational capability to analyse the
reasons of change requirement and identify issues within the change implementation process
8.

Among the three approaches of change management, ESS services can adapt ADKAR model
of change management as the model is effective in comparison with the Lewin’s and Kotter’s

ADKAR model is time effective and focus on the key aspects of the organisation including

implementing change within the organisation.

the organisations within the industry and have influence on the future growth of the
organisation. ESS can adopt ADKAR change model within the organisation to implement
