Self-Introduction
I have sheer confidence as the most important skill, which I will bring to my team. I
am confident because of my quick learning skills. Confidence is required to understand one’s
abilities and strengths to accomplish any given task.
In-depth knowledge has added to my confidence. One should have a deep and a clear
understanding of the root problem in order to tackle any situation wisely. For example, in one
instance, I was supposed to deliver a quick presentation to the clients. The team with me
faltered and stated that it was not prepared and that they were not ready with the presentation,
but being the team leader, my confidence and my in-depth knowledge of the topic helped me
to deliver a good presentation. In the session, I was able to answer all the questions with
utmost sincerity and wisdom. Thus, my manager through email praised me profusely and
appreciated me for my successful work. (S. Dhawan, personal communication, June 12,
2016). I can quote in support of my claim by stating ‘The ideal role of both the leader and
team is to ensure quality, integrity, accountability, fairness and balance to satisfy the
stakeholders.’ (Sohmen, 2013). This indeed can be achieved if I have the confidence in my
team and account on them.
In addition, being proactive adds to my confidence and helps me to achieve my goal.
Once during a failure of project deliverables, our company was at a brink of losing its
credibility as it was considered inefficient, but it was my sheer hard work and my aggressive
proactive approach to the project, which helped in saving it. I was able to figure the
shortcomings of the project, which had earlier been neglected by my team members most
unfortunately and garnered praise from the client.
Therefore, my confidence will uplift and motivate my team members, which will help
us in achieving our desired goals. A confident individual having in–depth knowledge of the
subject and proactive in nature is bound to succeed in life.
