INTRODUCTION
Sports is played all around the world in many different forms. Some countries have there
own national sports that are played just locally whereas there are some other sports which are
played nearly every national around the world. This essay will discuss and critics about the views
of different authors on world of sport.
MAIN BODY
According to the Lipsyte, (2018) sports are the activity with several names as per the
ways of playing them. Either girls of boys sports are very popular. It is physical as well as mental
fitness. Games are played across the world either as careerer, hobbies or as part of fitness
regimens. Sports played an important role in every-bodies life. Several types of games have
developed in popularity to amass an immense pursuing all over the world. There are several
types of sports in the world which are included in the Olympic games where from all over the
world different countries compete with each other. However, Laikangbam and Sharma, (2018)
said that, the sports are lucrative sector, basically billions of dollars in revenues specially in
developed nations. Among all the sports, football is one of the most popular game across the
world.
But Malcolm and Fletcher, (2017) is disagreed as they said, cricket is also one of the
most popular game that is played across the world. In United Kingdom about 2.5 billion fans of
cricket ( Most Popular Sports in the World, 2016). The world is becoming highly depended on
sports as it is the best way to get relief from stress as one who do not take part in physical
activity. There has been meany advantages like it raise the cardiovascular fitness and having
healthy bones, muscles and ligaments. However, it has been argued by Weiss and Whatman,
(2015) that, there are several injuries have been seen from in the world of sports even that
injuries that are never been recovered. For example, the case of Phillip Huges in 2014 who was
died in the ground because of brain haemorrhage as the ball directly hit in the neck. There are
many such accidents were had been seen in the ground playing sports.

As per the views of Liu, (2016) sports has benefits to the individual, community and the
economy. Sports has lead to several social economic advantages to many countries. It has raised
the economic prosperity, render employment opportunities as well as contribute towards
increasing as well as raising level of skills. Further, author also said that, sports represent dollars
to the economy and it is not a secret. But, it has been argues by the Lopez-Gonzalez, Estévez and
Griffiths, (2017) that, sports has raised betting and gambler activities that had negatively
influencing the society as a whole. There were many sports man that had conducted gambling
activities as it is the best way to raise the income. The consequences of gambling and betting are
very harmful as in last few years, it has been continuously increasing in response to increasing
developing information technology. The trends of online betting has reached to the greatest
extent. However, Timpka and et.al., (2017) said that, the world sport's association is
continuously thinking for make the proper patter so that the distorted patters of the betting in
sports can be identified. They are planning many strategies and have formulated strict regulation
to stop the betting in sports. Reiche, (2015) said that, the increasing of betting and gambling in

sports world has badly affected the sport's environment as it has significant loss time as well as
productivity and it might be happen that it can cause fraud, theft or embezzlement.
As per the views Newton, Stolle and Zmerli, (2018) sports in the world is also increasing
as it has raised and improve the relationship of people among the countries. The international
relation are greatly improved by the sports as it has impact the relations in positive way. The best
tool or instrument to unify peace in the world is Sports. Sports has taken the opportunities
rendered after globalisation as sports has gone at international level. But Shilbury, O’Boyle and
Ferkins, (2016) has argued that, the international sports has represented direct challenge to
domestic and national sports. As the popularity of domestic and national sports is decreasing in
some nations. For example, In India, people are highly attracted towards the Cricket and Football
which is not local and national game. Hockey is the national game of India which is not as much
popular among people as Cricket and Football.
De Mooij, (2019) stated that, sports had played great role in maintaining universal culture
where people with different region, attitude and belief combine together in a ground. Further, it
has been said by author that, the earning of various businesses is also increased like media,
advertisement and many others. However, people are making career in sports marketing because
of excellent growth opportunities are available in this sector. However, as per the views of
Giulianotti, Hognestad and Spaaij, (2016) The sport's industry across the world has generated
heavily on corporate sponsors as well as marketing in order to generate revenue, thus, there are
various and lots of job opportunities available for people. For example, the high paid salaries in
sports are professional athletes, doctors, sports management, agents, communication managers,
physical therapist, coach etc. So, sports industry has raised the economic growth of nation as a
whole. Further, it can also been identified that sports has raised the cultural diversity among at
international level that has also giving positive impact on the countries especially developing
nations such as India, Srilanka, Pakistan etc.
CONCLUSION
From the above essay, it has been identified that sports has becomes one of the most
important part of the world. It has raises the Sports has improved the relationship among
countries and health of people which had a great contribution to the economy. Further, it has also
been identified that with the increasing of sports, the gambling and abetting in sports is also
increasing where word sports association had taken serious steps for this.
