An individual has the capability to develop himself as a writer under certain
circumstances. Creativity is something which is evolved only in the right time and it needs
constant nourishment. Writing is one such art which includes creativity to the extreme level. A

my life and helped me to develop as a writer. Through this development essay writing I will add
information and illustration in detail to support the key idea of the essay.
Discussion
This incident had taken place when I was in my high school days. Every day I used to
walk back to my home from school as I love appreciating the beauty of nature which was not
possible in any kind of vehicle. I used to chirp with the birds and dance with the trees while
tuning to the roadside violinist. I was in love with this 15 minutes walk from school and it gave
me a positive energy to return back to school the next morning. This musical life was continuing
well when the prelim took place one day when I encountered an old man almost in his 70s
standing with a bag full of colorful tiny packets that lured me towards him. As I went near him
he greeted me with a toothless grin and my heart melted for him. He was in the most dilapidated
stage and the clothes on his body were shattered which made him look shabbier. As I wished to
take the colorful toffees so asked “how much?” and he replied in a broken and husky voice, “1
cent for 2”. I was delighted to hear this as my pocket money at that time was 5 cent. I got the
toffees and they went straight to my mouth to give a sweet and sour feeling to my taste buds. On

2DEVELOPMENT AS A WRITER
the rest of the way to my home I kept on relishing the taste but the image of the seller did not
completely erase from my mind.
This went on continuing for days at a stretch and buying those tiny little things from the
old man became my daily habit. I don’t remember if it was the toffee that attracted me towards
him or something else? With daily meetings our bond was built up and we started sharing small
talks about each other. Gradually I got to know that neither he has a home nor a family. I was
surprised at that point that how someone can lack the basics because I was not well acquainted to
reality then. With much curiosity in my voice I asked him, “Where do you stay?” and the poor
man replied that wherever he gets a suitable place under the sky. The answer struck me like a
thunderbolt and snatched the image of life as a bed of roses out of me. I was so young at that
time that even though I wished to do something for my friend (I used to call him by that name) I
was helpless and I did not get the courage to bring up the matter to my parents or in front of my
teachers. Thousands of thoughts hovered on my mind regarding this matter and I decided to
contact an old-age home if they can be of any help.
I never expected that the next morning would be so different that it would leave such a
deep impression on my heart and mind. Just as similar to other days my eyes kept wandering for
the man with a bag full of colorful packets but got stuck at the opposite footpath where I saw a
group of 5- 6 men crowded. I crossed the road to see the most pathetic scene where my friend
lied cold on the barren ground and the surrounding was getting ready to fulfill their
responsibility.

3DEVELOPMENT AS A WRITER
This event had changed me completely and I started observing life from new
perspectives. My notion about life took a new turn and I took the support of paper to pen down
my feelings. Those small steps taken forward as an outcome of a change made me a blogger
now. I found out my inner quality of matching words with feelings and express those in the form
of inscription.
