EMPLOYABILITY

INTRODUCTION
Employability skills can be defined as those skills which can make an individual
employable. In this employee needs to possess good technical skills and high amount of subject
knowledge so that they can be recruited. Employees who have adequate skills can increase the
productivity in work which is been performed by them. This can assist then in achieving their
personal as well as professional goals and objectives. Employability skills also provide support
to employees in analyzing the problems and bringing creative solution to it. These skills can
support an employee in growing. Present skills will lay emphasis on skills that needs to be
developed by me after taking the test. It will also focus on areas on which I am lacking.
MAIN BODY

 To develop professional network in order to have proper understanding of business.

My main aim and objective is to increase my professional network so that I can have proper
understanding of the business facts which are pertaining in travel and tourism industry. When in
joined the university I have no knowledge about how to strengthen the business connection than
my tutor gave me the idea on working on my professional network as this will assist me in
building up my confidence because of which I would be able to achieve my career goals and
objectives. It will help me in growing and building up my self-esteem. It is really essential for
me to get more creative idea and procedures which my tutor told me can be built with the help of
increasing my professional networking skills. So I am laying emphasis on developing this
technique. It will help me out in excelling in my career.
Suleman, (2018) stated that professional network is solely based on interactions related to
business. In this employees are being engaged in strengthening up their business relations They
have also mentioned that new opportunities can be created when employees are being engaged in
developing the professional network. This finding has assisted me in knowing about the various
benefits which professional networking provides to individual.
In order to improve my professional networking skills, I must be engaged in taking help from
my tutors. I also need to engaged in taking time for building up relationship. I have also analysed
that to strengthen my quality of work and build a professional network it is really essential for
me to set up goals so that I can work upon it and achieve it.

There are various problems which has been faced by me while developing a professional
networking skill when I discussed it with my tutor. Like I was not confident enough while
interacting with other peer. Also I sometimes go off the track because of which people get
annoyed or offended so I really need to work upon it for my growth.
I need to work upon all these aspects so that I am able to gain perspective from different
aspects. This skill will also assist me in making better bond with my peer, it will help me in
developing my maturity level. As I want to work in travel and tourism industry to make my
business grow it is really essential to have professional network. It can assist me in building up
my career path. Professional network will also assist me in developing self-confidence. Training
and certification garnered from networking builds self-confidence and promotes self-esteem

I went through the essential of employability test and I realised that it is very necessary for
me to improve my experience related to travel and tourism industry. I found out that industry
experience is one of my weakness at 63%. Industry experience basically involves working won
real time project which increases the knowledge related to subject matter. This experience is
really needed if employees are applying for any kind of job. I need to develop this as I have
earned really low percentage on this skill. It will assist me in making better decision so that I can
choose a better career path (Azmi, Hashim and Yusoff, 2018). It will help me in growing and
boosting up my confidence level. It will also help me in working with a better company or
industry.
If I have developed the industry experience, this will support me in better analysing the
problems that is being faced by company. It will also support me in developing various kind of
transferable skills. It will make me more employable. So it is really necessary for me to develop
industry experience for my career growth. Also this skill will assist me in making more
productive decision in my life. Also with the help of industry experience I would be able to make
better choices and also my knowledge related to industry will be increased.
In order to improve this skill, I need to work with business tycoons so that I can learn from
their experiences. This will assist me in having a better career path. It will also assist me in
bringing out the creative and innovative solution to the problem which is being faced by me.

This industry experience will assist me in working with team. During the university I have
analysed that there are lot of problem that is being faced by me through working on team.
Developing the industry experience can assist me in increasing productivity in team work.
Rowe and Zegwaard, (2017) stated that industry experience can assist an individual in
developing self-confidence, they are better able to share thoughts and values. This can also help
them in solving problem through gaining knowledge from other individuals. Through this I will
also be able to work on my organizational skills, it will make me more enthusiastic and
passionate about achieving my career goals and objectives.
Developing Industry experience is really important for me in order to have better
understanding of how people with diverse workforce works in company. This will also help me
in adjusting to ever changing culture environment. It will also support me in becoming a better
leader in future. It will also help me in developing the commercial awareness which is really
necessary for achieving my goals and objectives. This will also help me in making better bond
with my peer. I will be able to analyse the various facts and figures which is been pertaining in
travel and tourism industry (Belwal, Priyadarshi and Al Fazari, 2017).
It has been analysed that industry experience can assist me in understanding the factors
which can lay impact on the working of firm. This can help me in overcoming the hurdles which
can be faced by organization in future. So company’s goals and objectives can be achieved. It
will also help in meeting out my career goals and objectives.
Interpersonal communication skill-63%

Interpersonal skills are very important for every individual in the present world. No
individual can enhance its existing personality without having excellent communication skills. I
have found personally being student if you want to explore yourself you are required to have
effective communication skills (Messum. and et.al., 2016). During the university period I have
realised that interpersonal communication skills have great impact over the personality of an
individual. It influences the manner in which communication for the business is essential for the
business enterprise. The individual is required to have efficient communication skills for having
successful business. During the college I was required to give presentation on the specified
research topics. There I realised that communication is not limited to the way in which we

communicate that is the language in which interactions are made. This is much broader concept
that is essential to be considered by an individual. Interpersonal communication includes the
body postures, gestures and also the manner in which things are being conveyed. It requires
person to be effective listener so that the other persons are satisfied with accurate response. You
cannot make posiive impression over other person if effective communication skills are not there
in an individual. It involves from the manner of standing to the tone of talking. I have found that
for influencing the people and other interpersonal skill play a critical role. It is essential for me to
enhance my communication skills for becoming a successful business man. My goal of
becoming a success individual and business man requires enhancement of my existing
interpersonal skills. I will be required to meet number of new people every day and for making
an effective there must be convincing power.
If there are no interpersonal skills, I will not be able to achieve my life goals and objectives.
I will develop my interpersonal skills by taking extra seminars and taking online lectures from
the tutors (Messum and et.al., 2017). It is essential for having an effective strategy for becoming
successful in the life. I will not be able to provide the business with useful insights that are
important for growth and developments of business. Interpersonal skills are required for the
development of personality. It is required for the business to develop the skills that are required
for creating. Inters personal skill will be developed by me using the online sources and training
sessions that will help in development of my personality. Inter personal communication skills is
really essential for building up a better bond with my peer, I will be better able to do the team
work. This can also assist me in increasing the productivity in may academic work and session. It
can also help me in laying positive impact on my tutors, by this they can also help me in solving
the problems which is been faced by me during the time of assignment.

Interpersonal skills are the second most important thing in the business as it is very difficult
to make clients and customers without having good interpersonal communication skills. I will try
to learn from and each and every person with whom in am interacting for increasing my skills.
There is learning in each and every thing we do therefore in will try to take the best out of
everything. I will improve my listening skills as I am always in a hurry to reply that do not allow
me to understand the actual concern of the people. Listening is one of the skills I have to develop

by doing meditation and concentrating my focus for better understanding and giving more
satisfactory answers that are essential for any business.
Networking is an another most important to become successful in business. In present time
networking is the most important thing that businesses and business owners are required to
develop. I am good at communication and interacting with people though I have to develop other
interpersonal skills for becoming effective. In the university period I am big network of friends
and known people. I have developed this by my nature of talking to everyone being around. This
is good at the university stage but may not be that much effective at the stage of doing business.
There are various ways through which networking may be increased by the people for business.
In building the networks I have to be very careful about the target people who are related or are
important for business.
I have understood that not everyone who is around me is right for me and my growth. This
is the most important thing that I have to develop in my personality. After choosing the people
who are right for me, next step is to develop effective relationship with the people. Strong
business relationship could be developed by making effective relationship with the business
people. This will be developed with the interpersonal skills that I would be developing. This give
strong impression on the people with which you are meeting. This is important for the building
networking to attend the public gathering events and seminars that will help me to enhance the
personality. I have attended various seminars and conferences in the university period and that
has developed many networks. I have developed many fried due to this public meeting as and
gatherings. From this I have realised that for building strong business networks I have to be
present at the business meeting and events of business meets. This will help me in meeting new
people with whom I can share ideas and views. Interactions with new people helps in enhancing
my knowledge and will provide new ideas that will be helpful in business. The interactions will
include the interest areas of people and the topic and concern of meeting. Questioning and
listening to people helps in getting the views and ideas that are possessed by different people.
Respecting and sharing the common beliefs helps in building networks. On a visit to any places I
have a habit of interacting with the people who are standing alone are not focused. Talking to
these people helps in building confidence in that person and also they become friends with

people who take steps towards them. The tone used in the communication with people should be
polite and confident. This helps in effective tool for building the networks and strong business
relations with people. Politeness attracts attention and confidence builds trust which is essential
in any networking. Building networks are very essential in the present time to be successful in
any field. Networks comes with number of benefits to me. In the university period networking
has helped me in completing my number of assignments and projects. The people with whom I
have met once but remaining in contact helped me out in completing various works in the
university life. This has made me realised it also important to keep the networks active. This is
done be interacting with them in short intervals by calling them or communicating them over the
social media platforms. Remaining active is important with the contact built otherwise the people
lose contact and the strength of networks are lost. Therefore along with the new contacts old
contacts are also required to be kept active.
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it has been summarized that it is very essential to have employability
skills so that an individual become employable. This has assisted students in achieving their long
term as well as short term career goals and objectives. It has also helped them in having better
understanding of problems that has been faced by them. Employability skill has also assisted
students in building up better connection with peer that has ultimately strengthen their business
activities. It has really been necessary for career growth of students. Employability skills has also
assisted them in gaining in-depth knowledge related to subject matter.
