An effective scope statement of the project generally includes a number of points that are
generally illustrated below:
 Justification: Every project generally addresses proper need by explaining the reason
why the project is mainly undertaken.
 Scope description: Proper scope planning provides understanding as well as defining the
need of the scope before initiating with the work of the project.
 Acceptance criteria: Within the scope management procedure, there are a number of
conditions which needs to be met before expecting the deliverables of the project.
 Deliverables: Project deliverables must include uncertainties and assumptions with full
clarification.
 Project exclusions: Scoping the entire project by including all the types of work that is
needed to be done within the project.
 Limitations: Limitations are mainly the restrictions or obstructions that occur during the
progress of the project.
 Assumptions: The uncertainties that can occur within the project will be assumed in the

earlier.
 Operations: The operations department of the organization n can be able to supply the
medicines to the customers and due to this type of facilities, more customers will get
attracted towards the service of the company and thus the yearly revenue that will be
generated from the project will be quite high.
 Suppliers: The suppliers do not have to face any type of challenges while delivering the
medicines as the supply of the medicine will generally be done with the help of the drone.

Executive Summary
1. Introduction
The paper mainly reflects on an ethical analysis of the different types of issues that are
occurred while providing consultancy services. Due to proper working relationship with the
regional director of the company, the regional director assigned the work of investigating a
particular project A. However, due to discovery of a range of challenges and issues it is indicated
that the project will face delay and expenditure on the project will increase. However, one week
before the final release of the project, the company director wants to know the present status of
the project and refused to pay the extra amount as extra expenditure and deferred income can
create serious implications on the cash flow of the company.
2. Ethical analysis of the case study
2.1 Overview of the ethical issues
Due to having a good working relationship with the regional director of the company, the
regional director assigned the work of investigating a particular project. The regional director
informs that the deferral of various agreed delivery date due to different types of sophisticated
design and build based contract. However, the project team, has discovered a number of issues
and challenges from the design faults to the procedure of manufacturing which will make a delay
of 3 months by increasing the expenditure by £10 million. It is found that one week after the
final version of the report, the finance director of the company mainly asks for the status of the
project and have refused to provide the extra money by stating that both extra expenditure as
well as deferred income would create serious implications on the cash flow of the company. Now

if the project will be delivered with the issues that are present then it will create a number of
ethical issues and will degrade the brand value of the company.
2.2 Key fundamental principles of ethics
As per the key fundamental principles of ethics, the company should deliver proper as
well as authenticated product to the customers however the project that will be delivered will
have a number of problems including design faults as well as presence of different types of
issues that are related with the manufacturing procedures. Thus, the fundamental principles of
ethics that include integrity, professional competence, objectivity as well as professional
behaviour are not followed while undertaking the project. Moreover, the organization does not
also apply different types of ethical standards that generally enhance the quality as well as
consistency of different types of services.
2.3 Identification of the relevant facts
It is found that the ethical issue that occurs while the project was investigated because
there was a communication gap between the regional director and the finance director of the
company. The regional directors do not properly inform the finance director about the money
that will generally be required in order to resolve the issues that are associated with the project.
Additionally, the regional manager does not look into the problem seriously and thus avoids
proper professional behaviour. Moreover, the finance directors does not analyze the requirement
of the project and states that extra cost as well as deferred income will generally have serious
implications on the entire cash flow of the organization.

2.4 Identification of the affected parties
The consumers of the project will generally get mostly affected as during investigation of
the project by the project team, it is identified that the project faces a number of challenges and
issues including design faults, issues related with the procedure of manufacturing, breaching of
the contract as well as litigation. If the issues of the project will be delivered without resolving
the issues then it will create a number of ethical issues that can cause leakage of confidential data
of the consumers. In addition to this, it is found that the company will also get affected as if the
project is delivered without resolving the challenges and any type of ethical problems occur then
it will compromise the brand value of the organization that will create negative impact on the
revenue that is generated.
2.5 Actions which potentially lead to breach of PMI code of ethics
The actions that could potentially lead to breach of PMI code of ethics are generally
illustrated below:
 Honesty: The project that will be delivered will not be authenticated and it will contain a
number of challenges and thus the director of the organization causes breach of honesty.
 Responsibility: The regional director of the company is not responsible and thus due to
communication gap, a number of issues occur.
 Fairness: The delivery of the project knowing the fact that it will not operate properly is
totally unfair and will create a number of ethical challenges.
3. Recommendation
The recommendations are listed below:

 The communication gap should be resolved and the issues associated with the project
should be determined in the initial project phase so that it would not create impact on the
project progress negatively.
 Experienced project manager should be assigned so that the problems that are associated
with delay and over-expenditure should be managed by properly communicating with the
stakeholders of the organization by finding the best option that will be suitable.
4.Conclusion
It can be concluded from the entire paper that ethical issues that occur within the
organization will be resolved if the organization utilizes proper PMI framework as well as code
of ethical behaviour that assists with proper decision. Proper ethical decision framework not only
analyzes the situation but will be helpful in taking proper steps for managing the situation. In
addition to this, the communication gap should be resolved and the issues associated with the
project should be determined in the initial project phase for avoiding ethical challenges.
