The process of change in an organization is inevitable. Technological developments
demand a change in the business environment. It requires cooperation and participation of
members from each level. The leaders, managers, as well as the employees have a huge role to
play. However, the process is stressful for all the members involved. The aim of any business is
to maximize profits and gain a competitive edge and thus the requirement to adopt the change.
The employees, on the other hand, are not enthusiastic about the same. They resist because it will
disrupt their existing workflow. Forcing the employee or manipulating him unethical and will
have adverse effects. It will hinder the productive capacity. In fact, the leader should
communicate with the employees and boost their morale by letting them know the benefits that
change will bring along (Elegido, 2015). The main reason behind the employee resistance is the
disruption they had to face due to the change process. Sometimes, the change is technological
and requires the employees to learn and train for some new skills.
The leader or manager alone cannot bring about the change. It requires every
individual’s participation, i.e.- teamwork. The employees are the stronghold of any company and
thus their willing cooperation and support counts. The pressure is equal for both the leaders and
the subordinates. It is due to external competition, societal attributes, resources, etc. The
restructuring basically involves many crucial aspects. Ethical issues in change management
process are not uncommon. The procedure of change management can be ethical and it is the
duty of the managers to implement it in an ethical manner and with full responsibility. The
leaders have the power to influence the employees and their actions are adopted more than they

are aware of. Thus, following an ethical pattern is important. There should open communication
regarding the change and people should be encouraged to work as a team. People should be
motivated to share their views regarding the expected change. Workplace regulations and
policies should be followed. Every organization has a code of ethics that connects the employees
in the organization (Botyarov, 2016). It should be strictly followed by all so that the change
doesn’t disrupt the ethical framework. The organization that follows and promotes a culture of
ethics will be able to manage and implement the change successfully with minimum resistance
from the employees.
