Q What would you do in this situation and why? (2 marks)
It is a situation where I am in a dilemma. It is a realisation of a truth which was previously not known
to me. In this situation I will choose to continue being honest and holding my own integrity by
carrying out my studies as well as my job as a database administrator. Because it s very important to
understand and choose. Choices are the reasons which makes us what we are and we cannot make
wrong choices. Fighting and complaining to the administration about the matter and rectifying what
is wrong will not just take away my positive spirit and effort but will also cause me a huge time and
financial loss. Moreover, anything which does not occur naturally and is forced will not give the
same level of satisfaction. It is important for me to remain ethical in such times.
Many times such an incident seems to be voiced up and fought for. It is true that clearly there has
been a mistake somewhere. But in the personal life how we react and act really changes the destiny
and hence i will not like to voice this up. Rather i can officially speak to any of the administration
and inform them my eagerness and requirement of a scholarship. I can continue studying harder and
gathering better marks than before so that my name is considered for the forthcoming scholarships.

As per the ACS code document the interest of the public must be the topmost priority. Over any
personal interest, true professional safeguards integrity under all circumstances. In spite of the fact
that the situation is such that even when I am eligible I am not chosen for the scholarship and an
individual having a lower grades has been granted the personal choice is to be honest and work on
my personal competence. This way by improving on my own competence and capabilities I can work
harder to achieve a better future. This is for the all round professional development. Professional
development means upgrading ones own skills and knowledge, enhancing the overall professional
awareness, helping other fellow students enhance their knowledge and support them. For
professional work flow it is extremely important to have a calm objective. Professionalism asks one
to take an appropriate official action as an informed decision and not a rushed reaction. This has
helped me decide that i will inform my concern officially to the administration and understand the
matter better (Acs,2014).
