Question 1
The planning, influencing, staffing, organizing and controlling processes of healthcare
management deal with the specific aspect of healthcare management field. In the course of
carrying out these processes, healthcare executives encounter many-sided situations that require
the application of ethical decision-making principles. The ACHE code of ethics plays the role of
setting conduct standards for parties to the Code of ethics (Hammaker, Knadig & Tomlinson,
2017). It stipulates ethical behavior standards for healthcare executives in their interaction and
relationships with other professionals. Leading is the process that is of particular interest among
the five processes. Leading refers to the process of inspiring action among subordinates.
Information such as the fact that to become an effective manager, I’m required to understand my
subordinates in terms of their emotions, attitudes, values, and personalities will be quite
important in dealing with ethical issues involved in the leading process. In addition, the theory of
motivation which focuses on energizing workers, deontology, eudaimonism will also be of much
significance in my future career. The insight on the importance of avoiding exploitation of
professional relationships for my own gain as well as maintenance of qualities such as integrity,
honesty, good faith, fairness, and respect will also be of particular impact in my future career as a
healthcare manager. Leading my future organization in prioritizing care over other
considerations will also be of particular importance (Morrison, 2011). Finally, the experience I
have acquired throughout this course will help me to deal with various aspects of the leading
