Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is the usage of evidence while delivering the best care
and making decisions for the patient (Kim et al., 2016). The main objective of implementing
EBP for delivering care to the patient is the ability to provide the patient with appropriate
information based on the evidence and the experience of the clinician while helping the
patient make an informed decision based on their preferences and values (Crabtree et al.,
2016). Randomized control trials and clinical practice guidelines are some of the components
which provide with substantial evidence to support the intervention provided to the patient by
the nurses (Kim et al., 2016). In addition, it also aims to improve the communication skills
and provide learning to the care providers for better delivery of care (Crabtree et al., 2016).
The Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles in United States is one of the organization
which is a multi-specialty healthcare organization whose primary focus is to deliver the best
care to the patient depending upon their medical condition (Mission, Vision, Values and
Philosophy, 2017). It is the duty of the nursing professional to respect the diverse culture of
patients with interventions which have been researched and appropriate evidence has been
gathered (Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy, 2017). It is the philosophy of the
organization to pursue models and evidence-based practice to provide care to the patients that
are expected to exceed the expectations (Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy, 2017). The
organization uses research as the basis for the nursing practice for quality improvement in the
medical condition of the patients. The objective of the healthcare organization is to improve
the community health and introduce them to an advanced level of healthcare to enhance the
value of the treatment (Mission, Vision, Values and Philosophy, 2017).
The nurses are committed and are held accountable for the actions that are undertaken
for the care of the patient. The nurses are liable to collaborate with different healthcare
professionals for the specific treatment of the patient (Quality Measures, 2017). One of the
skills which is evident in the nursing professionals in the organization is the ability to listen

efficiently to the needs of the patient and try their best to provide a specific treatment plan to
ensure the positive outcome of wellbeing, both emotionally and physically (Quality
Measures, 2017). In addition, it is the responsibility of the nursing professionals to take
effective and informed decisions for the patient who are unable to give their consent to their
treatment. The most effective method of their care delivery system is the ability of the nurses
to categorically acknowledge the spiritual and unique needs of the patient while they are
being offered the treatment for their medical condition (Quality Measures, 2017).
